Hey fellow BHW members, I've been thinking about signing up here for a few months, but today I finally decided to take the big step and join. For those of you who didn't read the title, yes I am a HOMELESS 18 Year Old living in Chicago, IL.(I also can provide proof for those who think I'm lying.) Also, I never finished high school, and have very little work experience, meaning it's virtually impossible for me to find work ATM, meaning that I must stay on the path on IM, which I have been off and on for several years. I am typing this on my laptop at the local library. Seeing as I have no family to lean on (even my Mother is homeless, but has 11,000+ in Stock from her job and refuses to use it to help get her and myself a place to live , due to her own fears/failures, etc).

Long story short, I'm staying at a shelter, trying to make a way for myself on the internet. 99% of my journey has been failure after failure (not making any money, no money to find a mentor) but I'm not gonna give up. The program I am currently working with requires no actual start up capital, and I just need the traffic techniques and marketing to keep in touch with referrals that haven't gone all the way yet, and I'll be there. In fact, I am just 0.60 short of getting enough money to have a bus card to travel to a local Card Shop and sell my Magic: The Gathering cards I don't have time to play anymore due to my circumstances. I have had multiple episodes of homelessness throughout my life, meaning I don't know that feeling of having an apartment/house with all the things others take or granted (TV, Cable, Furniture, Steady Meals each day, Entertainment, Being able to afford clothes as I need them), and the like.

I know the pain of having to sleep in the streets; for example, the last shelter my mother and I were at we were discriminated against by the staff, (of the same color as us), and got kicked unto the streets. I know the pain of having to sleep on the trains, traveling back and forth as the CTA(Chicago Transit Authority) workers wake us up, just to board the train going the other direction.....but anyway, enough on this, anyone who's interested to know more can PM me.

Just wanted to give you all a small rundown of where I'm coming from....I will end with a quote I remember from Fight Club..... "It's only after we've lost everything, that we're free to do anything" - Tyler Durden....

I just became a member of BHW and I want to say thank you for being so transparent. Keep moving, keep trying, and never give up on your dreams. You will succeed. Being homeless and having the brains to find a place like this is a rare combination. If you keep doing rare things, you will find something rare which is valuable. At 18 and where you are now is not where you will be in 10 years.

good luck with your journey you are still young so don't give up on life you still have lots of trial/error time but i give you this advice: IM ain't easy and same said about blackhat IM it takes hard work and some failure and most of the times some investment basically don't believe anything here that's to good and easy to be true try the different methods and see which one you are good at and IM is an ever changing field so what works today wont work tomorrow if you are good withh computers, coding etc,, you should try to go that path.

I am grateful to everyone for the support! ilovechucktaylor I will PM you when I get up to 15 posts. For those of you wondering, the program I'm working on is a Freebie site that pays out through Paypal, Check, AlertPay, and other Prizes, so I should be okay as far as expenses are concerned.

PM'd you. I can help you learn Wordpress and other stuff.

BTW, Different parts of the forum don't count for getting your post count up, unfortunately. The lounge and I think this section aren't adding to your post count, so it's not helping you get closer to being able to send PMs.

    Hi,
thanks for sharing and being open with us.

Even though this is my newly established account on BHW I am quite experienced and have done deals worth of more than $500,000 on other sites and flippa.com.
For me the most important thing is the way we think. Ideas are converted into energy in the form of tools services and products which are then being sold. Simple but yet thats the truth.

From what I see you made the first step which is the hardest and which reveals the idea that you have of doing online business and making money online.
Instead of giving you a broad, generic and vague advice I prefer to keep things simple and to the point.

I see that you have good vocabulary and write well in English. My advice would be to start with content writing jobs as this is something for which you already have the needed skills and can yield you short term income. Knowing content is also one of the very basic things you need in order to be able to do SEO. You can begin with finding assignments on this board as well as other forums. I recommend you also to sign on DP.

I own one of the big content writing businesses and if you are interested I can put you in my team so you can start making some money from writing.
PM me if you are interested. I don't mind helping you out as long as you take the offer seriously and manage to deal with the deadlines.

Yeah, I looked into Job Corps, but it just wasn't for me. I'm not the kind of person who would truly benefit from such training. I'm just not the kind that could live with myself working a 9 to 5, barring extreme circumstances such as mines, but considering that I have to be in Job Corps for an extended amount of time, which I do NOT have, it's not really an option for me at all ATM.

I, myself graduated from a program similar to Job Corps. It was called Youthbuild. Helped me out alot. You should take a look into that, as I think that they have a program in Chicago.

Not gonna preach here, but having a high school diploma helps alot. And Im telling you this from a person who has seen a few in my childhood living in shelters.

If you need some advice, or just want to speak with another Imer who has walked a rough path, feel free to shoot me a PM and I will pass you my contact details from there.

Thanks for being so candid about your situation. Independence can surely be a difficult path to find - nevermind following it.

I recall once running across a blog of a young man who fell into homelessness. He actually turned his blog into a "how to" guide. He had the advantage of owning a car, and living in a city where he could find enough parking to stay mobile.

Most of his suggestions pivoted around the idea of remaining homeless while not appearing so. His journey became intentional for a while to see how long he could sustain the lifestyle.

I don't expect that you or anyone else would intentionally follow a similar path. Yet, I found his shared experiences to be a real eye-opener to the possibilities out there. I wish I remembered the name of his blog.

I hope you are able to find a more balanced situation soon...winter is very near. Good luck out there.

For those of you who may think I'm making this all up...you can ask me to show you a video (where I stay at sadly, before it moved from it's old location to it's new one)

And the New Location,(ask me if you want to see the video) trust me, it's not as good as they make it look on that video......this place is a fucking hell hole, believe me.....take away the intentional camera glares, suggestive camera angles, and show the areas that Overnight Guests are actually allowed to be in and you'll see....and smell the truth.....

The Mission claims to be this "House of God", couldn't be anything further from the truth, from the way we're treated there, to how downtrodden the Men and Women that stay and work there are, it's a shame....as you can see, just being here in and of itself is more than enough incentive for someone like me to strive for IM to work for me. And this is only one aspect of my life that IM has the ability to solve for me as long as I make it happen......

Don't mean to Necropost guys, but this is actually one of the two forums that I actually received actual support, as opposed to being bombarded by stupid "get a job" posts as if I'm some fucking bum that made a decision to be homeless.

    Thanks to you ALL!
