"Home" screen pages?

If I'm on the "home" screen, where the latest posts display in order, why can't I go to page "2, 3, 4," etc. If I try, it just goes to a mobile type stripped down index page.

It's never worked, Don't know why it just never has

When you log in, you can always hit the "new posts" link up in the right, by your name. You can use the pagenation then.

Well, it's not that big a deal, but this doesn't work either. Pages beyond page one = index page.
