So much LULz have been had for the last 10 minutes. So I got a Google Alert from a scraper site which scrapes from news sources and does a bad job at it too (images all over the place, html code showing in the post etc. A total crap site); the scraper site is only one month old and doesn't rank yet (and quite likely nevel will, but I'm following it now), so it goes without saying I was excited to analyze their backlinks. It turns out this scraper has 10k+ backlinks built in 3 weeks from very spammy sites, but has blogroll site-wide links from 2 ultra catholic blogs! LOLololo The two catholic blogs are the only ones that aren't spam out of the backlink profile and the links from the catholic blogs to the scraper are posted in the blogroll and look totally out of place, even with the links on top and below in the blogroll. These two catholic blogs have pictures of Virgin Mary and Jesus all splattered through the blog and the sidebar, and the posts in the blog are all made up of hardcore catholic stuff. All links point to catholic blogs and sites and also some hardcore pro-life sites, the only link that stands out is the one to the scraper site. Someone went out of his way to seduce some poor nuns to link to their black hat scraping site, unless the blog (which belongs to church officials) are interested in paid links as both blogs have some 40 links in their side bar. Whoever owns the scraper site quite likely reads this forum, so let me tell you, webmaster, that my hat goes off to you for your James-Bond seduction abilities, sir. What is yet to be seen is if blogroll site-wide links from two catholic blogs will help in convincing Google that the scraper site got the rest of the 10k+ backlinks naturally or blasted by a competitor.
