I just signed up for the Business plan. Unlimited disk space, bandwidth, and domains! Support is freakin awesome too, I asked for SSH access and I had it within 3 minutes (before I even had time to set a new password!).

Here's a hint: Use the coupon code GREEN at checkout to get 20% off the initial payment.

I've been using XMG for a while and they're generous with disk space and bandwidth, but I couldn't pass up unlimited everything for just a few more dollars a month. BTW, their support SUCKS. I had so many unanswered support tickets. When they DID help me, they were polite and quick, but they always said they were "moving" or "upgrading" their support infrastructure. I think that's just a veiled way of saying they were in over their heads and couldn't keep up with business.

I'm just posting this to tell anyone who's considering signing up to go ahead and jump right in; it's well worth it.

Long live HostGator!

Thanks for the review father, don't forget to review the rules as well.

Thought I would share that, Using the code

Code:
cheaphosting

Gets you $10 off initial payment instead of $4.95.

Sorry, I thought by not actually posting my link I wouldn't be in violation. I honestly wasn't trying to promote it or anything. I wouldn't pull that crap on you guys.

My apologies :(

I started with hostgator, went for cheaper solutions, got fucked, and went back...they have always been more of the 'middle ground' hosting solution in my honest experience...not the best, but not the worst, but always helpful to help me within what my account limits were...

I'd give them a thumbs up, but if you need some hardcore shit, then obviously you need something beyond shared hosting and you're looking into something a bit more beyond those means...

So far, I'm using apthost. I have around 10-20 domains hosted there with no problems. I've been with them for around 6 months now and I haven't received any downtime.

:usa:

Be careful with host Gator if you are planning to go all the way deep into BH. If some pissed off webmaster reports your site, the host gator will ban all you hosting account even without asking you.

This happened to me before when i tried creating a small size blog farm. Always spread your eggs..

yeah for WH sites hostgator is reallllly good, i have there about 60 domains now and no problems....
i suggest for BH stuff getting your own VPS, you are more flexibel and secure with it...

just my 2 cents...

I have heard dreamhost is pretty good too, you also get different IPs for your different domains that alone is difficult to pass

Been using hostmonster, thinking of changing to hostgator though. Lately have had some downtime that I am not too pleased with.

I use tech entrance which is optimized and friendly for web proxies.
I get unlimited domains/subdomains.

Beware of hostgator. They are stopping your domains and forward them to their money making park pages.
FCUK hostgator!

??? Do you have any more info on this, I haven't seen any evidence so far. Are you talking about new parked domains or domains you have content on? This is the first I've heard about this.

Yes they will. I moved to hostupon and I have not had any trouble.

Hmm, how far would you say is too far? I'm going to be setting up some autoblogs, this shouldn't be a problem should it?

I'd really like to get another VPS, but I got farked last time because the cheap plan I got didn't even have enough ram to compile what I needed for a proper server. :(

Any suggestions on a good, reliable, and cheap VPS provider?

Autoblogs shouldn't be a problem because the average internet user is not going to recognize that they are in fact automated.

So you likely won't have a large chance of getting reported.

HostSpanker (HostGator) blows. I've never had anything but trouble with them and if you're doing BH then they'll nail you. I wouldn't go with them if they were free...

Well, I'm happy with hostgator as well. No problems whatsoever, support is great. But then again, I don't do any black hat on my websites as such... no experience about hostgator and that stuff

I've been using Hostgator for a Whitehat site for quite some time and I've been quite pleased with them; now that I'm getting into BH though, I need some alternative hosting.

Agreed, HostGator is one of the best. They host all their servers at The Plant which is awesome by it's self. I have a server at The Planet and have three business hosting plans with HostGator... I love them.
