Are any of you guys managing to hold a one page site on page one of google?

I have a few sites on page 1 that are basically landing pages that generate sign ups where I get affiliate payments.

What are you doing to reduce risk of being penalised by Panda?

Would you switch into a multi page wordpress site instead with targeted articles pushing the sign up? I want to get conversions and too much clutter distracts the user so rather keep sites as thin as possible.

I presume we can get away with it on yahoo and bing until they hit us with an update... But then these guys arent driving as much traffic..

I have some sites ranking first page which are basically a 1 page lead gen template, but I do have privacy policy, T+C, About Us pages which may help, sometimes I add some articles and link to them in the footer so they're not too distracting for visitors but keeps Google happy....

You can have your landing page with a blog attached to it.

Would you keep the blog as the main page or just link to the blog page in the menu on the landing page.

I guess a sitemap file in root would be enough for search engines to index making it look like a larger site.

I'm planning on creating a lead gen site and doing so with blog posts that are not displayed on the homepage. Therefore, the blog posts get ranked and then the juice pushes up to the root domain.

Now that you guys say this, I'm thinking about at least putting some content like privacy policy, T+C, and About us

Google will penalize you if you have no links on the homepage, but backlinks/blog posts towards it?
