I'm getting that nag message saying I should post here so I am. I'm hoping to learn and share "blackhat" tricks here. The reason I use quotations around blackhat is because I never cared for the whitehat/blackhat jargon, but that's a whole other issue. My background is mainly in cloaking. A few years ago I bought search engine cloaker (SEC) and was very disappointed with it. Not only did it work mediocre, you have to spend 3 or $400 on plugins and crap just to get some halfway decent features. As far as I'm concerned, SEC is a scam and I feel bad for people who buy it. A few months after lousy results with SEC I started working on my own personal cloaker and I've been refining it ever since then. I'm not selling mine so this isn't spam, but I will say I'm very happy with mine and it has been a mad dog when it comes to getting pages indexed. Mine is also nearly impossible to detect, doesn't use a database (like lots of others) and has tons of better features than SEC ever had all built right in.

So, that's a little bit about my background and that's why I'll probably be checking out the cloaking forum the most.

cloakster - as you know if youve read my other replies to you I use sec and and in agreement w/ the addon issue. I am always looking for improvement and I tweak my sec well beyond the average user (based on discussions at that board). So Im curious about your statment "has tons of better features that SEC ever had" - what type of features are you talking about? THere are a variety of cloaking apps and I always willing to switch if I feel like IM missing what would be an importing feature for this type of product so I would look around at others if you could shed some light. So, what are some of the tons of features that sec is lacking?

Some of the features are the ability to: add unlimited, custom templates, auto-update ip and agents lists, choose which method to use for cloaking(user agent only, ip only or both), create your own links, cache all cloaked pages so spiders see the same content when they check the same page instead of seeing different content each time, and have complete control over how cloaked pages look including the ability to create unlimited numbers of pages that are readable and all unique. There are other features, but these are the main ones. I haven't used SEC in a couple years so I don't know what it has now, but I'm guessing if they have any of this, it's a pricey add-on. Mine is written in php and doesn't use a database like other php cloakers I've seen. I recently started cleaning up my script and, although I don't plan on selling it(not any time soon anyway), I may give out free copies in exchange for feedback and requests from people on how to make it better. I'll take some screenshots of it later and post them here.

add unlimited, custom templates: SEC does this like a charm. I pull templates from standard template sites and they integrate perfectly.

auto-update ip and agents lists: sec does this. click a check box and hit enter.

choose which method to use for cloaking(user agent only, ip only or both): SEC does this

create your own links: of course

cache all cloaked pages so spiders see the same content when they check the same page instead of seeing different content each time:
SEC does this via "last 75" cache and full Static Page function.

have complete control over how cloaked pages look including the ability to create unlimited numbers of pages that are readable and all unique: of course, i.e. the templates.

Mine are so tweaked I even rotate html code in the header (not just tag content but the other non displayh code items), names of all photos, words in the alt tags, of course the "meat" content, link lists at random sizes, menus at random sizes, random number of sub menus and sub menu entries, random phots from predefined lists, all the way to various compyright and dating formations, naturally all the head tags are random and all of this complete control randomness is sourced from a well researched key list (actually a few of them but I keep that technique to myself).

Its so automated but disguised from spiders I just pop in my keywords and thats it. One page will never look anything like the others.

I have 65 cloaked sites w/ 500-2000 pages each spread over 5 different hosting accounts. It takes me 10 minutes to setup a completely customized, totally unique (average 11% unique factor against the others!!!!) site.

I can look at the list of static pages, see the performance based on spider hits and remove poor performers with one click...constantly keeping the cream at the top.

I get perfect keyword and keywork link density in the "meat" content. All automaticlly.

I pull up charts that show me the performance of each page by the typical log info all within the integrated cloaking package.

There is an instant "one click" install for getting all the installs done on new domains and subs.

I dont even use the page extraction/scraping features...but they are there.

in a nutshell I think it's pretty badass - but a lot of that was through smart thinking - as with any complicated tool, you need to spend some time diggin under the hood.

So back to my original question - what are some features I may be missing out on?

    In a nutshell, it's badass.

The last time I used SEC, most of that stuff could only be gotten through expensive add-ons. If it's all included now, that's good; maybe less people will feel scammed as I did.

The fact that mine will be free and people will be able to contribute to make it better on a constant basis. I'll be open to suggestions, too, so if people have used other cloakers and want certain features added, I'll do my best to add them if someone else doesn't contribute the code themselves.

cloakster - that stuff is addon and I agree with you the sales method is bad. So the issue is that sec is powerful and good, the marketing is shady. The problem is not the software, but the sales method. It leaves a bad taste in many people's mouths and its a shame. At the end of the day its a few hundred bucks...people in the bh world that not making a lot more than a few hundred bucks each month are doing something wrong imo.
