    Hi All,

Ok - here is the score at the moment on the serps at the big g

    1 www domain com (root)
    2 www domain com / subpage.html
+ see more results from www domain com

    3 Youtube dogshit slop
    4 Shopping dogshit slop

    5 www mydomain com
6 all the rest and so on.

Basically I want the number 1 spot from www domain com but hes got the google love plus sign and "show me more"

Can anyone advise - are there any special considerations SEO wise I need to think of before carrying on linking to mydomain to get him booted from 1 with him having that +

Or will my links just shove him down anyway (mine are FAR STRONGER) and I just need more - or do I need something else?

Ive seen sites with a + more results at number 3 before - with sites with NO + sign above them - but for some reason this bit worries me.

    Any help appreciated
    Cheers
    Spaceman.

From my experience the + sign only happens with an indented (double) listing. Once a site gets an indented listing, it usually means google is starting to rank it as an authority site for that particular keyword.

however, this doesn't mean you can't get above it, and it doesn't mean you can't get your own indented listing with a +

I actually have quite a few sites right now that have a triple listing, I have no idea why it happens, but I like it :D

In terms of your SEO strategy, and how to proceed, I would need to know more information about the competition, etc

Feel free to contact me via PM with more information (i understand you might not want to post details), and I'll see if I can help.

    Nick

If google shows "show more", then that means that site was indexed frequently by google crawlers

You can't see that sign for any sites built using wordpress

Keep adding new content to make google bots visit your site frequently and bookmark those urls

Hi Nick this listing is a double listing (same domain at 1 and 2 then a +more link) - but I dont think google indents them anymore (well this one isnt indented anyway - it appears as ive listed it above - exactly.

His inbounds are 99% profile links - possibly around a hundred.

The serp returns about 1 million pages but in all honesty theres only him and me who actually know what we are doing - perhaps he knows more than me aswell.

I dont use profile links - just natural ones from sites and blogs (actual blog posts - NOT comment spam crap)

Two word phrase - both our domains are www keyword1keyword2unrelatedword com

The double listings happens when you link to the inner pages from the home page using the same keyword/search term. Then linking from that page back to the home page using the same keyword. Also get some backlinks to the inner page as well.

James - I have linked the index page to a sub page called keyword1_keyword2.html with the exact anchor text. The link back to the index is "extrword keyword1 keyword2". I think this will work for the double as the words are in the link back to the index and Ive seen it work before a number of times.

Today Ive linked a good few links to that subpage there ive just mentioned - and also added some good links to other subpages on the site for good measure.

I think the right phrase is "the top site here in this serp will be a little tougher to shift that the other plebs ive already beat down". Rather than "im never going to get to shift that bugger".

I think im worrying too much. But im not sure LOL

Sorry, you're correct, the listings are not indented anymore.

I guess in that case, you will simply need to keep building, diversify your links as much as possible, it may just take some time, as SEO does :)

If you have Market samurai or other, I would monitor his link growth compared to yours, and see if he is actively building. Also, I assume you have your title, description, etc sorted of course..

By the way bezopravin, wordpress sites can/do get the "Show more results from site.com"

as pretty much all my sites are wordpress, and im seeing it.
