Real good music is rare in my opinion, good musicians hardly grows on trees.

Most people are unmusical of themselves, some downright stupid. They are tone-deaf, has no tact at all and run towards the mainstream because they unable to develop their own taste because they are unmusical.
There's this style of music called hip hop, where you should have expensive jewelry, over-long necklaces, at least one ring on every finger, gold braces and of course unbearably baggy pants and clothing (it's laughable).

How is the music itself then? Well there is usually some tone deaf fatso who "raps", ie babbling / talking / spit out a bunch of useless crap with lots of swearing (for lack of better text). And the instruments then? It may well be that they will incorporate some computer-made sound and a little drums with the exact same beat for 3 minutes.

Who would buy such crap? You may wonder. The tone-deaf, tactless zeroes of course. Those who follow the mainstream. Those who have no ability to distinguish good music from bad. I understand that people have different musical tastes, but those who listen to hip hop, one can hardly take seriously.

Hip hoppers are like monkeys. They like things that shine and they have exactly the same pattern of movement which is to stand and rock back and forth and swing inside out with hands and arms in the absence of real dancing talent.

    :)

    (dont take it too seriously)

Please, do tell what YOU consider to be good music. Perhaps list some of your favorite artists. Seems to me like you're making quite a broad and sweeping generalization. There are plenty of hip-hop artists out there who are VERY talented - especially lyrically. Maybe if you just watch the shit on MTV, I could see your view having some merit, but even then it can't extend to all of hip-hop. Truth is, there is shit music in every genre.

What you're talking about is mainstream rap. Try some underground hiphop and you'll be surprised...

i'm not sure i have a problem with all that because it's how it started for the fun so good for you if that's you, but the music does draw the dumbest people these days.

but always remember sensible people do have silly fashion sense too.

It's actually kind of ignorant to paint an entire genre of music with such a broad stroke, not to mention offensive to those on the board that enjoy hip hop. Maybe 10 years ago that would be a select few, but now there is no denying hip hops appeal and acceptance into mainstream America and I'm sure more then a few people who are regulars on this board enjoy Jay-Z, Snoop, Dr. Dre, Drake, etc.

In just one paragraph you have managed to insult, belittle and degrade yourself. I'm sure you are somewhat intelligent, but if you read those words you wrote, it would lead us to believe otherwise.

You mention, "Who would buy such crap? You may wonder. The tone-deaf, tactless zeroes of course. Those who follow the mainstream. Those who have no ability to distinguish good music from bad."

Well record sales speak for themselves. Apparently there are more then just a few fans. Yes, these are albums SOLD!
    1. Eminem - The Marshall Mathers LP - 11.601.000
    2. MC Hammer - Please Hammer Don't Hurt 'Em - 10.000.000
    3. Eminem - The Eminem Show - 9.608.000
    4. Beastie Boys - Licensed to Ill - 9.000.000
    5. Nelly - Country Grammar - 8.369.000
    6. 50 Cent - Get Rich Or Die Tryin - 7.612.000
    7. Will Smith - Big Willie Style - 7.322.000
    8. Dr Dre - 2001 - 7.122.000
    9. Vanilla Ice - To the Extreme - 7.000.000
    10. Nelly - Nellyville - 6.402.000

Do remember, music is to just have fun to, dance to, lift you up, and make you feel certain ways. When at the gym you put on some Eminem or something that makes you feel like a badazz, when you are with your friends or at the club you want to dance and sing so something with a simple tone is nice. Hip Hop offers all of that.

I'm sure you have rocked back and forward to a hop hop beat or two. The PGA tour was even playing 50 cent. Where do you think the fist bumps came from that Phil Mickelson and Jim furyk use every round. Hip Hop!

Word to the wise, I know you were somewhat kidding, but it's never cool to be offensive.

Ok, I'm supposed to be here to make money....since time is money, I'm already losing by replying to this post.

Yup, EXACTLY. Most of the masses have inaccurate perception of Hip hop.

Awesome post my friend. Not feeling the Roots so much anymore though.

I made this post in a similar thread the other day, but the thread was convoluted with one of those dumb asses who is the reason why OP has the view of Hip hop that he does. Funny thing is, he's banned now. LOl.
