High value expired domains

I want to buy a couple expired domains for the backlink profile they have, but the previous owner did a 302 redirect to a different domain for the last few months.

Did that pass off the domain's authority/juice and make it worthless? Or is it only a 301 redirect that passes the juice? Meaning the domains would still be valuable??

The passing authority with redirect is ongoing process. When you cease redirect - the passing ceases. The backlinks are on their place, right? It's not like the power of backlinks is diminishing on 1/10 every month or something like this.

As soon as you stop the redirect everything is fine again.

I was under the impression that a 301 (permanent) redirect permanently passed the juice to the other domain and couldn't be reversed. Thank you, this is very valuable information.

Nope, otherwise all those auctioned domains that have registrar landing page would be worthless, but as we know - they are not.
