I know there is a lot of debate about PR but it would be interesting to know what has been the fasted way you have achieved high PR, I have heard of people getting PR 7 within 6 months, has anyone here ever achieved that without buying a tremendous amount of expensive links?

So the question is how fast and how high?

I've heard about PR5's in a matter of a few months. I know a lot of people like to brag on forums about things like this, but you never exactly see their sites. But that's the best I've heard.

my point exactly, people say they have done it, but i'd still like to hear from members here about their experiences

Reached PR 3 in 2 updates with zero experience to begin with, might get it to PR 4 by the next update.

I did PR4 on several sites myself and usually it took around 2 updates too, I never did any crazy inbound linking either

I got PR6 with about 40xPR5 pages in 23 days from registering the domain last update. I bought no links, i have also gone PR7 in one update but that was a bit longer about 8 weeks.

But at the end of the day it means nothing, visitors/revenue means a hundred times more than PR ever will. I have no idea why people are so obsessed with Pagerank, its a stupid metric to base anything on.

I totally agree that it is a stupid metric but if you are in the business of SEO it does have effect on your clients especially if you sell links. How difficult was it for you to get 40XPR5 links without paying if you prefer you can answer via PM

I also would like to find out how to get so much high PR backlings for free?

Pm if you dont want to share here

Thanx

No the PR6 and 40xPR5 pages were what my site got in 23 days after the update and not the backlinks i got.

seomanifest, how much for your service?

i have one site i need some help with...

help a brother out?

Hi Animalmother,

Please send me the details to your site and I'll see what I can help you with, right now I am overworked so I can not do the actual work but I can tell you what to do. Please send me the URL and what keywords you want to target.

Damn, you must be really good at "The Google Game".

You don't have to be good at the "Google Game" to get high Pagerank, you just need to create interesting stuff people will link to.

If you want to make money, that's a different story then it helps to be good at the Google game to pull traffic numbers organically.

Pagerank is a horrible way to make money, i feel the only reason it exists is so newbs focus on Pagerank rather than important things like revenue, traffic, conversion rates, growth rates, bounce rates and other important metrics.

Page Rank is important if you are in the business of selling links, I know that it is over rated, but that is not the point of this thread

Selling links runs the risk of having your Pagerank scrubbed out by Google, it takes around 3 months to update and even see the results of link building plus getting decent Pagerank takes either a lot of money or a lot of work.

So.. The building Pagerank to sell links business is an extremely horrible revenue model.

If you want to do that, don't build your Pagerank up just to sell links. Drop catch PR5 domains for the $60-$150 mark and sell off 10 permanent links for $50 a piece. It's far more profitable, a lot less work and you can start turning a profit today not 3 months down the track when PR updates and you might luck out and get a worthless PR2 despite having 10k links.

Hope that helps.

What do you mean by Drop catch? Selling links can still be done anonymously through link brokers so if you are not openly advertising you are selling links then you should still be fine. Links are still being bought and sold all over the net.

Drop Catch = Buying domains that already have Pagerank, rather than building links for 3 months "hoping" you get a Pagerank that will make it all worth while.

I know link brokers who handle thousands of link transactions per week, none of them ever get a domain and build up the Pagerank for link selling it's just not viable.

Thank about it, you can buy a PR5 domain for $60-$150 and sell 10 permanent links for $50 each ($500 worth) and have the whole turnaround done in 24 hours. Or, you can spend hours on end building links then wait 3 months and pray you don't wind up with a PR2 that will net pocket change.

The first option is a "link selling business", the second option is just a waste of time.

When a domain gets transferred it loses its page rank, atleast that is what I have always heard

You heard wrong i'm afraid, Pagerank is dependent on backlinks not the owner. Sites and domains get bought and sold every day. If i took over BHW it would be unreasonable to think it lost it's rank or pagerank, nobody would buy/sell sites or domains if this was the case.

I've got a PR7 that was a PR5 when i bought it, so it went up not down. I have bought and sold a few thousand domains, some go up, some go down and some stay the same it all depends on the backlinks.

Are we talking about buying expired domains, or buying entire sites, since the two scenarios are obviously very different. If you buy an expired domain you will lose the benefit of all the onsite linking that was done. If you mean buying a site with all its content then I agree with you but doubt you can pickup such a site for such a low price.
