    So a dumb question.

Is it possible to publish a page that the Search engines see.
If I human visitor went to a direct url they would see it.
The sitemap xml plugin would know its there.
The WP search function would see it.

But it wouldn`t be displayed on the home page or anywhere else in the blog?

Just direct url access for human visitors but Serps and sitesmaps see it?

    If possible explain how?

I`m talking pages now not posts.

I see on the add new page there is an option above publish called visibility and the option are

    private
    password protected
    public.

I want the post to be public so someone can see it with a direct url or if they find it in a search result page I just don`t want it anchored anywhere in the them at all .

Am I not explaining what I want properly?

That's called cloaking and isn't the best way to go.

you can create it, unlink it but add it to the sitemap so the crawlers see it, but like it was said before it is not the best way to go, google won`t like it

What ios the downside to it?

Each "hidden" page would have content relevant to my site you just wouldn`t be able to access it from the main blog menu. I use WP as more of a CMS anyway..

so lets say my site is about California bakeries. The main page lets you navigate around like normal cupcakes and what not.

That I have dozens of keyword targetd pages that can`t be accessed from the main pages but can be accessed through the search enging or a direct url.

So a possible title of the "hidden page" based on the California bakery Niche would be.

    "Sacramento cupcakes"
With a bunch of info about where to get cupcakes in sacramento and of course a home button and regular theme links.

    L.A. bagels.
    Info about L.A. bagels.

    get it?

As far as I know, Pages arent listed in any pages other than sidebar widgets and Nav bar buttons!

Make page, remove such widgets which shows recent pages, and use template edit and edit the header and pull out the fuction which pulls the page title!!

So, you can thus make pages which wont be listed anywhere, but that can be accessed directly and are listed in sitemaps and SE wont have a problem with it at all!!

So if every page I ad automatically shows up in my theme it`s because my theme is setup to place each one there?

I don`t use any wigets. I have one sidebar on the right and I put my adsense there. Every time I create a new page my theme puts a link to it on the home page.

Either remove the navigation bar from the home page or exclude the exact page by adding a snippet in the code - or just http://bit.ly/hksGfC

So I want the navigation bar because thats how people move around my site. I use my blog like it just a regular website. A CMS.

any hints on what code I would have to put in a page so that it does not get listed in the nav bar?

Just make a static normal html then, put it on the root directory of the blog and include it (manualy) on the sitemaps.xml.

Download a plugin "exclude from navigation" - I use it all the time! There will be a tick box (ticked by default) and if you leave it on, the page will be added to your pages on the default main page. If you untick it, it won't, unless you add a link.
