Hibernate disappeared from menu

    Since my laptop overheat problem I now have Hibenate disappear from menu and sleep is ghosted

    What happened?


    Im a bit sick of having to shut down every time right now

    Mate, i think your graphics drivers are not ok.
    Try to search the last graphics driver for your laptop and install them.

    This will solve your problem :)

    Updating drivers is a good recommendation, failing that grab your Windows CD and do a reinstall using the repair option. Also, check to see if an recent update did some damage. Sounds like you can't catch a break! Did you fix the overheating problem?

    I am worried th problem will arise again if I update driver
    THe screen just went haywire with lines before I recovered some if it

    The problem is the graphic chip.

    I think the graphic chip has been overheated and that's why you have some problems.

    Does your laptop is an Acer ?

    You can try to change the thermal paste located on your graphic chip and on your CPU.

    but if my theory is correct, your graphic chip has been overheated and there's no answer except change the graphic chip.
