    Hi guys!
Still profitable invest time to create a legit music channel in YT?
Uploading videos with original songs and covers from other artists. (100% white hat and self produced)
I'm thinking about this, and need some advices from the experts.
    Thanks for the help!

personally i dont think the music niche is the way to go unless you are part of a music network like Vevo. The problem with copyrighted music that isnt yours is that it'll eventually get copyright strikes.

It is not AS profitable as other niches. But it will net something if you have something people are searching for.

I have spent most of my energy focusing on music because I am a musician and I have to say it's a terrible niche! No one wants to spend any money!

Cover niche is really profitable. If you can play some instruments or you can sing I think you can have success.
You can get a lot of followers if you perform covers of famous house or other genres songs in acoustic version.

Just an example! Almost 2M subscribers...

That's good idea. But you need to know that you will need a lot of connections to do something like that and a lot of continuously work.

Yeah stay away from music niche. Even if you created cover songs, you wont able to get 100% profit on adsense coz of matched third party thingy.

the real income in the music business for an artist isnt really music sales. it's gonna be touring, merchandise, and other things. it's a long difficult road but "if" it pays off it has the potential to pay off in a big way.

don't think you can just part time your way to the grammy's tho, you gotta be dedicated, good luck Opie

This is one of my main questions... find the rules for this type of monetization. I dont wanna waste my time building a channel to earn 0.01€ per 1000 views.

Yes, I understand this point, but need to know if is profitable AND how monetise my videos.

I think this can be possible, but need some advice first. Is not only compose songs, this is the easy part. The problem is: How to make money using music as tool to promote something.

I still searching, learning and setting a method for this niche. Advices welcome =P

(One good advice for me is to improve my english skills.. =P)

OP, if you're just reuploading videos of other covers, IMO it's just gona be a waste of time. There are many other profitable niches you can tackle. Think of ever-green niches. Sure the competition is fierce but the amount of money you can make is rediculous if you can rank at the top.

Fullscreen network accept music covers of over 100000 music tracks (is writed in their website)
In 100000 songs, exist good chances to find good ones to produce diferent types of covers.
    Maybe can be profitable.

I think it depends on a genre of music. If your music is something unique it will probably attract people. There are too many faceless musicans around these days from my point of view.

i asked one of the people who made a good cover of the popular songs and asked them if i can monetize it and they let me but when i reuploaded them to my channel i get a matched third copyright content - this you can see in the video manager tab....i give up.

I don't know if they were monetized, if they let me reupload the cover then i have to go for it. I'm not a musician so I just take what I can get and give what I can give back but right now I have nothing to give because I'm so bankrupt.

Pilfer said it right, make the music that businesses want to buy/license from you. Ontop of live performances, merchandise etc. Songs cost 99 cents so downloads and streaming won't pay the bills. You have to appeal and entertain people because EVERYBODY is making covers these days. It's also required to be sexy and have a decent/high-grade camera if you want the cold truth. I watch countless talented artists who've yet to achieve mainstream success so talent alone won't help you.
