I've found that adding a free .site which is provided by Google really helps with ranking your GMB listing.
Instead of using a keyword stuffed domain name which Google may eventually penalize, go with a free. site domain, a domain owned by Google.
Don't worry.. You own this domain for as long as you have your GMB listing.
The URL of this domain will be; yourgmbname.business.site
I recommend coming up with 600 - 800 word of high quality yet SEO optimized content. Your primary focus should be to:
1) Educate visitors about your business' services or products
2) Optimize your site for your primary keywords.
One method of finding trending keywords is by using Google Trends for your research. It's free and GT tells you a lot about what's hot right now.
To find additional keywords, you can use a tool like Power Suggest Pro or any reputable paid keyword tool.
This free site that you're building is here to serve as a landing page in a sense that you want to pre-sell your visitors on what it is you're offering.
I don't recommend making it too salesy but a bit of temptation is not bad.
In order to use this site to get phone calls, I recommend stating the phone number 2-3 times throughout the 600-800 word article and your phone number should be hyperlinked, so if the person clicks on it on their cell phone, then they have the option to automatically call using their cell phone.
You may also link out to relevant sites. This tells Google what your site is all about and only helps with your rankings!
Add your NAP information to the end of the page. In case your client or you don't want to use their physical address because it is a home address or an address you don't want to show, just mention the city/state/zip. Always add your shortened map link below your NAP info.
Google loves Google. This site is provided by Google, so use it!
Spend some time customizing your site by adding a title, description, photos, banner, and logo.
Photos; add 10 - 20 photos. Add tags (targeted keywords) to your photo to tell Google what your photos are all about.
Use Exif Pilot to add GPS coordinates to your photos. In case your photos were taken at the location, then this is as good as it gets.
Logo; Use the logo of your company or create one with a free logo maker. Outsource it if you got a budget.
Cover photo; This photo will be featured at the top of your page.
Make sure that your photos are highly correlated with your business' activities. The photos should be of high quality.
Hope this helps!
