    Hi Guys,

    I want to know the strategy of checking domain is dropped when doing the purchase of old domain.

    I already used wayback machine and backlink cheking the profile which is fine and clean.

    But when I use the code site: this domain address on google, but it does not show any records, I am a little confused because some of them told be before, if site code which does not show any records, it means the domain is banned and no need to buy it.

    But I seen the domain stop use from the year of 2017, so what is the right opinion for this condition.

    Expired = Dropped.

    And you are completely wrong with basically every statement in the opening post.

    - Just because domain is not indexed, it doesn't mean there's anything wrong with it. It just hasn't been online for a while.
    - Past "drops" can be checked via hosting history, or via Whois. So check hosterstats.com or check Whois Database.
    - "Drop" itself is not a ranking factor. People who claim that the dropped domain is an issue and won't rank as well only because of this, should pursue different careers than internet marketing.
    - If you are buying expired domain you should be concerned about its past, as in anchors, backlinks, content and overall abuse level, not whether someone dropped it or not.

    Oh and, did you know, that domains that go to auctions are mostly drop caught right? Pretty much all of them outside Godaddy.
    And if the domain was drop caught, it means it had to be dropped for a second or two first. Based on "logic" of some people, that makes the domain useless. What a load of crap.

    It's funny though. Whenever I hear some completely bullshit statement regarding SEO, the answer is always: "I read it somewhere" or "I heard it somewhere" or "Someone once told me" and nobody knows where or from who. Funny.
