help is appreciated if someone can tell me how to set up vista so programs can access the internet.

I have turned the firewall off, have adjusted access permissions, have included access through the firewall.

I can download, but when a program tries to access the internet it does not allow it.

i can not use utorrent, coreftp, and I tried to register siteslammer but it can not connect.

    thanks in advance

ps. I did get video converter registered, and get the popup to allow it to access verification of registration.

I agree XP is better. The next time you get a problem like this, try to right click then click on run as administrator.
