We have a facebook site in which we are ranking #1 in most competitive keyword. Last friday, when I checked the ranking of the site, we're still in the page 1 but outrank in top 5 and one keyword was pushed from page 1 to page 8 in G search engine. I already post a thread maybe its because of the purchasing of private blog network (blogroll and blogpost) from our DEAR service provider. but when we checked with our web development team and A/B testing team, we did a site wide redirect from another facebook site we had, and it was not done properly, leaving the blog live. We had links going to home page and links going to blog, so google was probably wondering what the heck we were doing with a half redirect. So now, another factor that comes out is because of not proper redirecting (meaning an ON page factor). What do you think guys? thanks for any help

So you were redirecting another site to this one, While also shelling out a number of blogpost/blogroll links to the site?

Well, redirection carry no peculiar harm except it was coming from an already penalized site. The de-ranking is probably a dance for now, that is the typical explaination anyone would give you for now, you'd be left to find out yourself. Whether it was a dance, or just pure deranking.

Like someone already said, rankings from FB sites on Google are coming down - and honestly, rightly so. A website should always be valued more than a social networking page. And FB is not as strong a traffic source as it used to be a few months ago. You should probably try out a domain and put in redirects there.

    Cheers :)
