I have an amazon affiliate site.

An article is ranking 6th on SERPs for "xxxx review"

Homepage of site which is the top silo article is ranking for same keyword with an "s" on the end, so "xxxx reviews" and it is position 94 in SERPS.

The homepage article does not mention "xxxx" at all, what could be going wrong? Is this ok or is it preventing the actual keyword article from ranking higher than 6th?

Do each of your links mention xxxx and that's why it relates?

That's not A bad thing. It just means your site is an authority on that keyword. If your page gets to #1 for it your homepage will likely rank a bit higher for it

Not worth your time. Cannibalization is a thing when you have a page on 10-20s and a second page on 20-40s then you should think on merging or redirecting in order to push the 10s up to the first page.
