on instagram i have 100k followers because of my band. right now i am directing these 100k followers to our youtube page but what id really like to do is get all these people on my own blog so that i can immerse them in our world everything from our youtube page to new pics, to new songs, etc.

what are some crucial things or plugins i should implement in my wordpress blog to make the most use of this potential traffic?

Most of the wordpress plugins aimed for things like SEO and conversion rates. As I understood you don't try to achieve any of the above. IMHO, its not the plugins you need, its the community feel you're looking after. E.q. you need a theme and content that will go well with your followers.

Friend, spend $1000-$3000 and hire a degreed web designer or a firm. You want to immerse them, your fans? First, your site should be custom design, hosted on Amazon Elastic or some other host's VIrtual Server in the Cloud. You need to develop apps based around your music, the look of your brand (you know what I mean here?), and the videos. I recommend interactive storybook apps. If you have time, save money by having a contest for fans to write wicked stories (5 pages max) involving the band members that incorporates your music and videos. Winner gets to hang out, be heavily featured. Or just hire this out too. I'm available for cheap, btw, as a writer And campaign director. If there's time, run difficult choices by BHW. We'll rip you'd ideas apart and build them up better!

BTW: you blog needs to be supplemental. Everyone has a blog. You want original content with serious value, such as all the apps you should be spitting out for IOS, Android, kindle exclusives, Nook exclusives. Simple Games with amazing soundtracks, stories!!

Damn, I'd kill for your opportunity. I'd have that 100k into 1 Million in a month! Good luck, and Pvt MSG me if you trust giving real updates or want more specifics. Kick some ass, 21at Century Bards...

Oh crap, I just saw my own signature... You see, you have no excuses with money because you should crowd source it all! I organize and run Online fundraising for authors and I would live a musician client in my portfolio. Either way, check out your opportunities. You can fundraiser for the apps, the site designer, to pay the awesome marketing campaign director who gave you all that sexy advice for free online... :)

You ought to go for as much interlinking as possible - have a Twitter account, Facebook page, Youtube channel (I see you already have that) and anything else you can think of and have them all point at your blog. The more backlinks you have, the better. As for the blog itself, make the content diverse. Do you tour? A tour diary, ideally kept by more than one band member and updated daily, with some video posts that people will want to link their friends to. Your music will get people to your gigs. What will bring them to your website is, simply, yourselves.
