Long story short, I've been in the IM game for quite some time now making a pretty good amount basically being a "manager" for my SEO company. Just recently, I "partnered" up with somebody who has been funding me with whatever I need: a wishlist of tools, graphic designers for websites, domains...basically whatever I need/want.

Now I plan on paying him every dime back with interest of course, but it's been some time now and we haven't discussed percentages, when they want it back, no valuations, no paperwork, no receipts...NOTHING. Everything has been CASH. Am I missing something here? This is the first time I have dealt with an investor, and I thought the process was a little more systematic if said entity is investing xx,xxx of dollars. It's 2012! School me BHW. :)

You should consult a lawyer and get a contract drawn that you both agree to. I don't see this ending well otherwise.

Right, NOT that i'm saying i'm going to skip town or ANYTHING of that nature...my concern is, if this doesn't end where they don't get their money back(in reality, this happens a lot in business)...what is it that i'm not seeing where they could feel so comfortable to make these moves without paperwork? I plan on being an investor later in life, i'm just trying to see if there is some kind of loophole that he could take to acquire his money back and more if profits don't return to him?
