    Lotsa ways, but how about:

    PHP:
    Get the RSS writer class -  http://www.phpclasses.org/browse/package/560.html

    Find the section:
    $properties=array();

    $properties['description']='Latest components made available';

    $properties['link']='http://www.phpclasses.org/browse/latest/latest.xml';

    $properties['title']='Latest class entries';

    $properties['dc:date']='2002-05-06T00:00:00Z';

    $rss_writer_object->additem($properties);

    $properties['description']='Latest book reviews released';

    $properties['link']='http://www.phpclasses.org/reviews/latest/latest.xml';

    $properties['title']='Latest reviews';

    $properties['dc:date']='2002-05-06T00:00:00Z';

    $rss_writer_object->additem($properties);

    For
    meI'd use a stored procedure to autogenerate that chunk of code every time a new product record was inserted.

    Finally wrap it into a handy lil php script, set cron to run it every x number of minutes/hours and voila, done.
    No, it's not an easy peasy solution like adding a counter or clock script, sorry.
