    Hi guys,

Here's the story. I have two ebay accounts, one personal, perfect account, had it for 12 years+, no issues what so ever. And a business account. I also have two paypal accounts, again for the personal account and one for the business account.

I opened my last account a year and half ago, upon opening it, it was limited, I was requested to supply proof of who I was and invoices from my suppliers. I did all this and the account was open and I was allowed to sell.

I've been selling for about a year and a half, all going well, account in perfect order, 100% feedback. A couple of weeks ago I requested an increase in my selling limits, I spoke to a rep on the phone and was told I would receive an email requesting further information. I received the email and did as instructed, sent over more copies of invoices from suppliers and my proof of ID.

I later received an email with the following subject line: MC008 eBay Indefinite Selling Restriction

    Stating:
Obviously I called ebay, they claim they linked me to some account that is restricted. Well, the only account I have ever had is my personal account and that account is fine and has no limitations what so ever.

I have written to ebay and got a call back telling me they won't budge and they just don't seem to care.

    What can I do?

Anyone I can write to directly at ebay?

I am invested in stock, in an office, I've even employed someone to work for me... and now I have nothing, no sales, no sign of movement from ebay and no income.

    Please help :(
    Thanks.

(p.s. sorry for the long winded post)

Call and don't get off the phone until you talk to some one that can make a decision. Be adamant and firm that you are not linked to some bogus account.

Call and ask for a supervisor and not some phone clerk. Ask them to send the the name of the account they say are linked. Keep calling until you find a supervisor. Go with stealth accounts until you get this settled. I can hook you up with the best in the business when it comes to stealth accounts.

Maybe start selling on your personal account if it not restricted. It has the reputation with eBay so it shouldn't be limited. Plus, everything is set up on there. You can also change usernames on eBay, so if the personal account has an unsuitable username, change it!

Just a thought. Good luck dealing with these idiots.

Wouldn't that however make the OP directly vulnerable to exactly what he's defending against here? I mean if he honestly had no restricted accounts and is trying to prove that, but then uses a different account which is "linked" to a restricted one... kind of defeats the purpose.

    Yes, it would. Bad idea.

Not much you can do, unfortunately. Calling them gets you a rep that works in some call center in India or the Philippines. Those guys are overworked and underpaid. I know quite a few of them personally and believe you me, they have a hard time.
One of the things to be avoided at almost all cost is to transfer a call to a supervisor - if they do it simply means that they can not handle the call them selfs and that is bad - real bad. So they rather hang up on you than to transfer the call. Regardless, your problems are with T&S and you need to get somebody from there on the phone - in Salt Lake.

If you are telling the truth here and no fishy fishy was going on you may be able to state your case in a way that makes sense to someone and MAYBE find a "good" person. Most likely not, though.

Going stealth is a way but a long cumbersome one that should only be taken if you know exactly what you do. Just buying an account from someone doesn't do the trick.

    Good luck to you

Are you sure you get a rep outside the US? Every time I called eBay (granted, it was only a couple of times), I've always gotten a US-based person.

Yes, most of the time you get a rep outside. The call center here in Makati caters to ebay US and CAD - with about 200 or so rep's handling chat, mail and call. I dunno how many they have in India but i guess a whole lot as well.

They even have a T&S department here altough small and for the Asian sites i think. PP occupies the floor above them and handles things like release of funds and such. Quite an operation they got going here.

Call and request to be transfered to a U.S. customer service representative. These are the only people on eBay that have access to the information needed to make any changes.

Not entirely true - maybe you just phrased it wrong, though.

Any rep can access any account and get all the info of that account. To take action it needs a code key. Depending on what kind of action ( remove feedback, raise limits, suspend etc ) different keys are needed and the more "complicated" things get the fewer people have the proper key. Top tier is of course T&S and only those guys can , for example, reinstate suspended selling limits.

I've been told by my account rep at eBay that eBay CSRs outside of their main branches in the U.S. do not have full access to information and are only prompted with messages that show up as the action that was taken.

Any info on an account is visible to any CSR in any call center. Trust me on that one.
That goes for all the personal info, restrictions that are on the account, measures that have been taken, previous infringements and what not.

One exception - they have changed that a while back - CC info is not visible anymore.

The OP made one post and hasn't been online since March, 13, 2013.

What I would have done is called ebay trying to see why the account was restricted for exactly.

Im guessing it was because of the invoice of suppliers he provided them with they saw it and didn't like it. If this is the reason call them apologize and say you won't sell what you were selling anymore. (They may reinstate your account or may not)

This all started with requesting higher selling limits you never rock the boat on any account you have. After a long successful selling history ebay will raise your limits automatically and that is how you want them to be raised.

If he didn't get this resolved he needed to move on and make more stealth accounts.
