Help plz. Stuck on bottom of page 1 in Google

I have few keywords that are on page 1 of Google but they are ranking no 8-10. I see impressions for the keywords in Webmaster tools but no clicks. I have tried everything and I have no clue where else to get links form now. I have done bookmarking, relevant forum posting, article submission to all major networks. My onsite seo is good.

should i buy links from high PR sites?
should i spend $500 something for a Press Release?
should i pay money to get listed in Yahoo directory?

My budget is around $300 per month and that's why I don't know what to focus on next.

Current backlinks to the page - 5803

How old is your site? And how many backlinks do you currently have?

More info is needed about your site, search numbers and competition before anyone can give you any meaningful advice. You do not need to post the url and keywords but the more info you provide the better the advice will be.

Domain was registered beginning of 2008. Yahoo site explorer is showing - 5803 backlinks.

One of the best ways to go up from the bottom of page one on Google is to look at the links of the sites that outrank you and go after getting those links for your site. Assuming all is well with your onpage optimization, you should start to move up from the bottom of the page.

It is unusual in my experience for a site at the bottom of page one to get no clicks whatsoever. Is the actual Google listing in the Serps somehow not compelling? We have a new site right now that is #8 and one of its problems is that the Serp result contains a phrase from an RSS feed on the page and it really doesn't seem that relevant to the reader. We changed the page content around a bit and that problem should be solved. We will then go after the best links that the better ranking sites have, and we then capture #1.

yep i agree..just get links for the sites that your competitor have links on

i'm also 10th in google..

Was thinking of looking up all links etc but I really don't have time for it. So I ordered a Xrumer blast haha..

But yeah, copy the top guys links, keep pumping out fresh content and basically unlike me be patient
