Hey guys,

This is my first post on the site and it's sad news. I believe my site has been hacked.

Google shows my site's URL on SERP with a stranger's site title and meta description. I have no idea how this is possible. Has my site been hacked?

This is an example of what SERP looks like:

Stranger's site Title
My site URL
Stranger's site metadescription

This is what happened:
-On March 13th, my servers were overloaded but my developer fixed the issue on the same day.
-The next day, I noticed that Google Analytics stopped tracking referrals. All referrals showed 100% bounce and 0:00 for time on site.
-I also noticed that my SE traffic started nose diving.
-Just today, I realized that I don't show up on google anymore, because the title and meta description for my site have been replaced with the info of different site that has no relation with me.

-My meta tags have not been changed at all. So I have no idea where Google is pulling that title and description from.

Have I been hacked? How can I fix this??? Please I'd appreciate any feedback.

Do you suspect your site developer's involvement in all of this? This actually reminds me about something I read about where a hacker will manage to get Google to display a different page title and description while it still redirects to the real page.

Anyway, do you have access to your Google Webmaster Tools? I would check there to see if any penalties have been applied.

Thank you for your help. I posted this on the Black Hat forum as well with the same title and there's been some development there.

I basically resubmitted my site for indexing and all the correct info was put back in place as of this morning. I'm totally confused as to how Google chose some random website to mix me up with.

I'm still having issues for Google Analytics not tracking my referrals though. :/
