Hey, As the title suggests, I need a catchy name for a cupcake/pastries/cakes/sweets business. I don't seem to come up with an inspired name and usually I'm good at this... Need heeeelp!!! I will repay with cookies if you're from Europe, I'll send them via post, hope they won't break on the shipment :)

    2 girls 1 cup.

Joking........ let me know a bit more about the product--where you are planning on positioning it in the market, ie cheap cakes or 100% organic fairtrade etc. And a bit more back story on the company and I may be able to help.

100% organic, high grade ingredients, elegant presentation and toppings. You will get a warm feeling inside when you enter the shop, won't go for the full fancy, high class image.

Can't edit my last post so I'll continue here... Marketing will focus on middle class to upper class people. Prices will be accordingly (not to expensive but not to cheap either). Quality and presentation of the products will be excelent and beyond (won't cut any corners on that part). Thanks graphire :)

So its a bricks and mortar shop ? would its location have any influence on the naming. Also is it normal for the shop name to be in English ?

Based on what you have said so far, My first idea is

    Epicakes.

its epic-cakes but also uses the the french epicure which would be associated with fine dining among the elite. I'll come up with some more later.

We still don't know if we're going to include the baker's name in the business name.

Sweetest bricks and sugar mortar mate. :)

The location doesn't have any influence on the naming and it's common for shops here to have English names so that isn't an issue.

You could always go for ?petit4? or ?lepetit4?, a play on ?petit four? - a term for small sweet cakes (which in turn means ?little oven? in French). As someone who speaks French and likes to bake maybe I don't have quite the distance from this that I should have, but I think that's the most fitting name for such a place.

    exquiscake

English visitors would read it as exquisite and think "Fine" or "First class" and in French the word "exquis" means Exquisite a win win in my mind, I will pick up the cookies in person if I win next time I am over.
