i'm currently doing SEO to a local clinic here in singapore, their domain is www.[clinicname].com.sg.

so far they are dominating the search engine results for keywords like "[service] in singapore", "[service] singapore" and "singapore [service]"

now, they want to power up their online marketing campaign and want to get online customers from other countries like india, malaysia, indonesia, thailand, russia and other countries. in short, they want to dominate local SEO results for other countries as well to get clients.

any idea on how i can best achieve this goal of dominating those local search engine as well?

here's some of my points, ideas and questions on my mind on how to do it, hope you can contribute your knowledge and expertise.

* since their website is .com.sg, there is no way i can rank them to let say google india or google china. is my logic correct?

* since their website is in english, they need to have multi languages catering those new countries to dominate. am i correct on this?

* to dominate other countries, i will try to setup a niche website like www.[service]malaysia.com or www.malaysia[service].com then do some SEO to rank in their respective local searches. then when they dominate the search engine, i plan to redirect 301 to their main singapore site or just display ads on about their singapore clinic. which do you think is best?

* if i want to boost SERP rank for let's say malaysia, i need to build malaysian website links? will that work that way?

* any other suggestions you can recommend to me how to best do it?

need your help on this guyz...your response is appreciated. :)

anyone who can share their thoughts about my current local seo project?

What you are describing does not seem like local SEO, but national/international SEO.

Local SEO is when you rank a local business for the term: city + [service]. For example in Google Places. You're not describing local SEO, you want to rank the business in different countries, not cities.

No, it would depend on the competition.

Any page, directory or sub-domain for the country will need to be language specific.

You could do either, but would depend on the service and the user.

Yes, quality local links are all good.

you can use subdomains service-city.domain.com.sg .. for natral seo
but for google maps you probably need local domain & hosting & research local webmaster forums for faster tricks and lists with local yellow pages and classifieds to grow its placerank.
you cant use 301 since then the site wont be in indian but in thai language .. which wont rank well...

i would suggest to create easy converting landing pages so they fill some info and clinic guys connect by phone to people.. so you can seo in their language on subdomain/ landing domain.country

thanks jangozo....

yeah, i guess i will do the subdomain for country specific and for natural seo.

for google listings, i guess its quite difficult coz we dont have physical address on those locations. the best i can do is build lots of local links.

i agree with you on last part, i just create an optimize site with landing page and capture the lead.
