Yes, you read that correctly - I was running a very successful photography Instagram that grew to 70K when it was ruthlessly attacked by a unknown rival. I've used black hat methods but I would NEVER purchase fake accounts because it would kill my engagement but my account was attacked by 45-50,000 fake followers and it totally murdered my engagement which dropped through the floor and this attack ruined my credibility...

For months, I have spoke out publicly to my followers about this, sent countless messages to Instagram's Support, etc and nothing has worked to remove these accounts!

Why has nobody come with a solution to solve something like this!? IG_Exorcist used to me a crude solution but there is NOTHING now... :/

This happened to me too, however I know who did it as she shows off about it, they also mass report my account after sending loads of bots and my account was then disabled.
    It's so messed up.

And there is absolutely no self-liberating solution... only automation bots. Nothing intelligent has been developed like this and Instagram wouldn't give a shit with their fudged and inflated user numbers of people on Instagram. I would like to remove these crap accounts once and for all and have been stuck with them for six months! :/

Use a scrapper, scrape out inactive accounts of spams.

Then get someone to make you a blocking bot and share with us.

Not that hard really :) You don't have to stick with them forever.

Honestly, I should like do a bot block clean up service hahahahhaa

There's really not much you can do about it when facing this kind of sabotage. There's no way to know exactly which accounts are fake, since some users are inactive, but real.

Thx for this golden method. I could use this to kill my competitors :)
Btw is it that bad you got many followers or you only care for Eg ratio?
Seems to me there's no method to kill your followers since IG won't had to implement that
    How about change your username

I believe it hurts the engagement because part of IG's algorithm is dependent on how many of your followers see you content and then engage!

There's more than just a few of us who have had this same problem, right?

A solution could be to scrape your on followers ahead of time store them into a database, then when hit with something like this, block all followers not in your database

This is incorrect, IG shows content in the order it was posted. The only thing it might affect is hashtag search etc.

What I told someone else tonight! -- "I cannot for the life of me figure out why NOBODY has ever created a professional solution to remove spam, fake accounts, and ghost accounts? There is NO solution out there and I’ve been looking for months."

It used to be that way in chronological order but according to Instagram itself, they do not do it this way any more... It's all algorithm based.

The solution was mentioned above. If instagram is not helping and you're annoyed by these followers, you need to do something against it yourself instead of waiting for the miracle to happen.

Make a list of these fake followers, hire someone to make a blocking bot for you. Or you can even record a simple bot yourself with iMacros as i see blocking is available on the web interface too, feed the macro with the accs from a .csv, play it in loop and that's it.

Because for every security you put in place, someone else will find a way to break your code in 10 other ways.
