I've searched on here and couldn't find the right answers to my questions. Let say I buy a new domain from namecheap. This is my money site and for simplicity sakes, I'll call it myfreshdomain.c0m I already have hostgator and I'll like to host myfreshdomain.c0m on it, so I take the name servers (from the email they sent) from hostgator and enter it into the domain name server section in namecheap. Next, I buy some aged , PR3 domain (let's call it fromgodaddy.c0m) from auctions.godaddy.c0m and I'll like to redirect this site to myfreshdomain.c0m. I'm assuming that I have to go through the same hosting setup as I did above with myfreshdomain.c0m to host fromgodaddy.c0m right? Also, I know that hostgator has a simple setup to add a new domain for 301 redirect in cpanel. Is that all I have to do to complete the 301 redirect process? Offtopic question: I checked the fromgodaddy.c0m on Scrapebox and found out that it has a PR3, with 31 backlinks. However, this new site has no relevance whatsoever to the keyword I'm targeting on myfreshdomain.c0m. Is this something I should be concerned about? I guess after the redirect is complete, and I start building backlinks for myfreshdomain.c0m, I was concerned about having a mixture of non-relevant backlinks and non-relevant anchor tags from fromgodaddy.c0m and new backlinks with relevant anchor tags from myfreshdomain.c0m Thanks!
Non-relevant anchor-text in backlinks coming through to your website isn't going to hurt you... it just may not help you. No need to worry man, stop stressing out about these kinds of things and focus on ensuring all of it looks natural, and doesn't raise any eyes over at the Googleplex.
Make sure it's hosted separately from your money site, e.g. on a different C Class IP address. Cpanel redirect is fine. Irrelevant links are Ok, but relevant, contextual links are better.
Basically, don't host the aged domain with the same host as your money site. eg: Aged domain - bluehost money site - hostgator
