Hello fellow Marketers out there, i am new to seo and just watched some videos last night on how to choose keywords on your niche, my problem is how can i know if the keyword i am choosing can be ranked easily or the competition on that certain keyword is low and easy to rank?

Im confuse, i used Google adword planner and typed the main KW i want to rank. i saw the keyword on google adwork as Low Competition

    kwgoogle.png

but when i type the same keyword on google search this is the result, it has almost 9 Million search results on google search.

my question is, is the keyword i choose on my niche hard to rank? or should i look for another keyword for my niche? any ideas or tools on how to choose better keyword or to check if the competition on that keyword easily be rank on search engines

    thanks in advance.

    Hi Hi,

The road to IM is tough and required great dedications. It is very difficult to understand, the next moment a competitor of similar niche or newcomer may be beside you challenging who is better.

If you are patient enough, a low competition niche with decent search volumes would appear. Too high of a search volume is not acceptable, do you happen to be viewing in Global Search instead of geo-targeted?

An alternative is to purchase high paying cpc list to stimulate your brain and innovate new ideas :)

    Hope It Helps,
    Commoner

    You can try this:

    1. Find 1 big niche.
    2. Go to google and look for its suggestion, try to find approxiamtely 10-20 seed keyword.
    3. go to GKP, input ur seed keyword in, export your list out.
    4. Sort and arrange your search volumn using excel. (more than 1k MS or something)
    5. Spend your time manually on weeding out keyword that you can work with.
    6. load that list of keyword into Scrapebox competition finder --> export as CSV, vlookup back to your original CSV.
    7. exclude those keyword that has high "google result"

You will have a brief understanding of keyword using this, here come the on page part.

    8. Grab your copy of market samurai (search around, it is free here).
    9. Use MS competition checker to check your keyword competitiveness base on onpage by loading them 1 by 1.
    10. After u have ur shortlisted list, use ahrefs to check top 3's links profiles, and try to weed out the easy to target one.

This process can takes weeks if not month, but totally worth it lol.

    Hope that helps.

Edit: regarding to your question in your OP, low competition in GkP is not low competition for SEO, it is low for Adwords users.

Sometimes low competitino in GKP also mean low competition in SEO, but not always.

First please understand that adwords.google.com showing competition low is not for us who are trying to rank on search engine. the low term is for advertisers. Meaning there less advertisers bidding for that keyword.

this will help you > http://backlinko.com/keyword-competition

I was about to post just that - if you are going to build an Adsense website, then you should actually choose keywords with high competition (once you have evaluated all other factors)

The competition levels, reported by Keyword Planner do not represent SEO ranking "difficulty" for that keyword

The 9 million pages is the total number of pages with that term on them, but only theones with it in the URL and title are your competitors.

Search for the term in google with these operators:

    inurl:keyword

    intitle:keyword

Only sites with your keyword in the title and url are real competitors.

I do not use that tool and I have o idea. I go by the google results, if there are less than 25,000 inurl and 100,000 intitle, I consider it easy.

There is a softwarel called Stealth Keyword Competition Analyzer you might want to look into. It will give you some guidance and it costs less than $50. Its not infalliable, but it is way better than nothing. You will need private Google passed proxies if you use it a lot.

Go for branded keywords to start with, as those tend to be easier. Use tools like traffic travis to check competition, they have a free version, though not sure if the free version helps with competition analysis, I think they do. You may even try market samurai, they have a free trial too.
