I know this is a long shot but I will ask anyway. I am currently trying to raise money for victims of crime via justgiving.com, I was just wondering that since a lot of the members on this forum use social marketing, that maybe some of you could help me by sharing my Just Giving page on your network. If you would like the URL to my Just Giving page please feel free to PM me. Thanks in advance for anyone that helps.

Anyone? Just one tweet or one share? You can view the justgiving.com page first if it helps

Wow, you have to register with facebook or email in order to donate. That's one way to collect emails. This really is Blackhat.
Oh, and I don't buy it. I may be wrong, but this looks like a regular scam.

Please google justgiving.com and you will see it's not a scam. Any money donated goes directly to the chosen charity

Hi OP, I researched about justgiving.com and found out that it's legit. However, you should explain to us how the system works or which victims you are trying to raise money for. Not just "victims of crime". Just to give us a bit of confidence. You know full well that we're all skeptics when it comes to internet "stuff".

The charity i'm trying to raise money for is called "victim support" please Google them, they support victims of any type of crime even if the crime hasn't been reported by the victim. I feel that victims of violent and sexual crimes would benefit most from their support.

I found the charity. It's legit. You should have stated the charity in your first post. Where does the justgiving.com money go to first? You, and then you send it to Victim Support, or does it go directly to them?

The money goes directly to the charity and justgiving.com apply gift aid to the donation as well, which adds a little extra. If you Google gift aid it will explain it better.

Just giving are a commercial business that help themselves to a nice cut of the pie. If you have ever had the pleasure of working for a multinational charity and looked at a carpark full of company Audis and BMWs it would turn you off. Why dont you just raise money for the charity directly ?

Also. Fair play to you to want to help people out but you might do better if you narrowed it down to specific groups such as victims of domestic violence etc. Victims of all crime including unreported sounds like the entire human race.

JustGiving Provide a ready made platform for donations that most people already know and trust, the charity doesn't have this set up. I could build a new site promoting the charity but people generally wont donate on a random website.

LOL - every charity I know will gladly accept a check DIRECTLY. Come on...no need to try to convince that someone needs to go through a 3rd party to give. Cut the crap.

The website might be legit but I stilll don't like how they do it.

OK you obviously feel i'm trying to scam people. So please explain how I would be doing that by using a website such as JustGiving. I only used the site because I thought it would make people feel more secure.

Never said ANYTHING about YOU. BUT...you are making it seem as if people have to go through a 3rd party. If you are so passionate about helping a charity then provide their direct details - and people can donate if they want. "JustGiving" takes a cut.

    DIRECTLY FROM THEIR SITE:

    JustGiving fees

JustGiving charges a small transaction fee on every donation made on the Website or its associated services. The fee is currently up to 5% of the gross donation. Subscription fees also apply to member charities for additional services. For full details please visit www.justgiving.com/charities.

So...you want people to help...provide direct info - not a middleman that takes 5%

I mean wouldn't you want this charity to get 100% and not 95% if you REALLY cared about them????????
