    Hi Friends,

Looking for some ideas to help my sister promote her "Hair-styling" business.

Basically the way the Hair Biz Works is you gotta build a following of about 100 people who will book you 1once a mth.
Target Market: "Professional Women with $ to spend on their Image!"

You must do chemical treatments to make $
    -Hair color
    -Hair cuts

Hair cuts are gravy---and get those on top

100 clients booking 4 a day at $100 each....that's the goal. (yep...women who we chase all day long...spend about $100+ mth to get their hair done).

Anyone have any ideas on how to get to this level?

    MY IDEAS
1.flood the local market with a catchy biz card
2.point the card users to a kick-arse website
3.Have videos on the web showing her talent

    WHAT ABOUT YOU
-Your Thoughts or Suggestions for promoting this type of Biz?

*your constructive input is greatly appreciated.

    ~T

    Sounds good.

Buying ads on local newspapers and blogs may help as well. College billboards sometimes allow ads to be stapled to them. Go to rock concerts and events and hand out flyers... Local marketing is old school stuff. Just my 2 cents.

Create her a video commercial and put it on Youtube, FB, etc. targeting the desired client area.

Before or after pictures work well and often get shared/repinned a lot. The before/after pics work especially well with color jobs.

She could do video reviews for professional only products she uses for clients too. It's all about visual intrigue with the hair biz.

I would also suggest getting a nice Ad made and posting on Craigslist, backpage etc. Like LaLore said before and after pictures work very well.

focus on getting local celebrities and influential people (female business owners, politicians etc). getting these types of people in the door will increase your business exponentially. go to local trade shows and have contests for free hair treatment. advertise online, newspaper, radio, billboards, network with other local business owners to work on ways to share clients.

Locally, do flyer distribution(at high end places like sephora? idk if they allow it but thats where rich women go to lol) with some sort of promotion and get some yelp reviews too. If she is building a website, make sure to get some nice hair tutorials and use pinterest , intstagram, facebook to promote them (She can use picmonkey to create a nice collage of step by step hair tutorials - Pinterest loves this stuff, she'd get a lot of repins of done with proper photographs etc).

Also youtube videos, creating her own channel, doing a video response to other big channels helps get subscribers
    .
Basicaly for local biz, its more of word of mouth publicity and also girls like to check out the reviews on sites like yelp. Just my 2 cents :)
    Good luck !

A lot of local sites give away special offer coupons, tell her to sign up for one of those. Could bring her a lot of new clients.

If you are interested in local market you should use offline marketing tools, something like guerilla marketing

For local businesses, especially personal services, the best advertising is word of month, so investing in giving her customers the best service possible and extras they wouldn't expect. Like free stuff etc, just so they will mention her business in conversion. Then it is all dependant on the service really, after that it should naturally grow.

Check out every door direct mail EDDM, you can put a large (maybe A3) glossy flyer through all the letterboxes in the local area for cheap.
