I've lurked this forum for a while now. There are still somethings I don't fully understand and would like to learn. I currently use backlink spammers such as Scrapebox. Is this effective? Can it be made more effective? I do targeted campaigns on (hopefully) relevant sites. What method do you guys use to determine appropriate amount of back links for a site? I know older sites can have more back links without adverse effects but if there a sort of cap you would try to stay below for younger sites? I'd appreciate any help and would one day like to understand SEO enough to give back to the forums. Thanks in advanced guys

Your question is sort of like, "Is a hammer a good tool for building" Well yes, as long as you use it to hammer nails and don't try to paint the wall with it.

There is no such thing as an appropriate amount, there is no set number.

A good place to start is building quality web 2.0 links you can (good readable content on high pr do follow) backlink those backlinks and work on diversifying your link profile along with a reasonable velocity of link building.

Well you can use too many nails. You can be removed from Google completely if you over spam backlinks. I'm looking for a sort of number everyone regards as dangerous. Like is four million nails too many or is it a quality house?
