Help me. eBay problem :(

Recently I was searching for gevey SIM for my iPhone and I found a person who was selling it on eBay. I tried to buy it but the seller had put some country limitations, so I directly contacted seller asking him about the shipping...

He told me to make a direct payment to his paypal id and he will ship the item.. So here he was asking for a direct payment without involving eBay. At first I thought I shouldn't deal without eBay but then I made the payment.. He has more than 350 +ve feedbacks and he is a power seller.

Now it has been 3 days the seller hasn't replied to any of my mails and messages nor he has mailed me the tracking number. I paid him extra for fast shipping so that I receive the my product in 3-7 days.

Today I have opened a dispute against him on paypal...

I want to know what are the chances that I'll get my money back?
Will he get the claim or will I get a refund.. I have paid him $250 and I don't want to lose it.

as it was goods and I am guessing you did not send the money as friend then you should get it pretty easily

My guess is now the claim is in he will be in touch pretty soon

how can I check if the invoice was marked as good and not services or any other?

if it was invoiced I think you can only only invoice for goods/services, so you should be fine

If he asked you to send to his paypal as personal and friend then you would not really have a claim

$250 for one gevey sim card?! They are offered for wayyyy lower prices, starting at $5 .....

even if he doesnt respond and keeps ignoring you

paypal will refund you the money out of their own pocket
thats there job its why you pay your paypal fees

i had a porblem before paid for a unlock code for a mibile and they didnt send it i open a dispute and the other guy still didnt reply

then paypal just refunded me the money

But its bigger yet, Visa and Mastercard have fraud protection to the consumer. PayPal is just using Visa and Mastercard to move their digital monies. The platform is still Visa and Mastercard (and the other ones)

Think about that.


The tricky one is the bank funded paypal payments!!

Those are not through Visa and Mastercard and do NOT have consumer protection....
PayPal doesn't have to offer protection on these kind of transactions.


If payment was paid through PP, funded by a "visa/mastercard" branded card, you go to them, and get your money back.

** If payment was paid through PP, funded by a bank account or "electronic check" YOU HAVE TO GO TO YOUR BANK ** and the problem with that is you don't get the same protection from your bank. They will fight you NOT TO GIVE YOU YOUR MONEY BACK


Visa and Mastercard have the power to offer "protection" by giving you your digital 100111110001011110001101100111 account balance back......
