Lots of people have recommended #2, but perhaps a better example would be "places to go see", so would #2 as placetogosee.com still be good?

So I want to create a site search optimized for a 4 word name. Of course, the best domains are taken so I have three options, I will use the example "shops in the store"

    #1. Take a strange extension: shopsinthestore.me,.co

#2. Take shopinthestore.com, but without the pluralized s at the start. Note* everyone who searches uses the pluralized s as their google type-in.

#3. Take a wierd combination which would be like shops-inthestore.com

    #4. Take a 5th: shopsinthestore#.

I'd really like to make an authority site that focuses on long-tail word after the extension, for example targeting shopsinthestoreHere and shopsinthestoreNOW.

I'm really torn on what to do, I'm leaning towards 1 or 2. I'd like to do #2 simple because the .com with no dashes makes it look the most legit, but almost all the used search terms have the s as part of the first keywords. HELP (does anyone know how important pluralized/singular differences on in terms of search?)

I'll choose domain #2 as your say it's more legit.. but don't forget use word "SHOPS" in website title, because it's your targeted keyword.

Search "shops" in google(US).. look at the #1 & #2 position.

    Results:

    #1 shophousingworks (dot) com
    #2 mauidiveshop (dot) com

So, it's doesn't matter if u take domain #2 even though these domains do not include 's'.

Hey, why not do them all? Gives you much more coverage and domains are not that expensive!
