Hello all, I would like to know if anyone would be willing to help me monetize my blog " I can give url later as it doesnt allow me to post" or search Cacoteo
Ive had it for almost 2 years now with no ads whatsoever and aside from music and videos, I have unique content such as interviews, and articles from many music artists who support our site. Ive been paying money to have my own server etc and I would at least like to be able to cover the costs or make a bit more to put right back into making it better.

If you guys and gals out there can help me out it would GREATLY be appreciated!

Yes we do have a nice user base, but I have not tried a donation button as it is too straight forward and wanted to make money from people actually clicking through the site. I thought about adding Dj/Music/ & Music Equipment related ads as it relates to the content, but as I stated before I have never made a $1 with any of the sites Ive owned and would like to at least start generating some income to cover the costs of the server. Im such a noob that at a few years back on my personal Dj site, I was EASILY generating over 1 million hits per mo - thousands of real users per day and did not capatalize. Maybe I missed my mark, but now that Ive found you all, I want to redeem myself and need all the help I can get. My current site does not generate no where near as much as what my actual Dj site does, but as mentioned im simply looking to cover the costs of the server for now.

I have some experience with online radio and from my experience monetization is very hard. Earning money isn't the main problem, earning enough money to make a buck after you paid the hosting, which in the case of shoutcast streams can be very expensive. Not sure what streaming technology you are using but I don't think that it really matters because any radio would eat up LOTS of bandwidth.

My advice is if you're doing it for fun, try to find someone to advertise on your stream, like radio ads. Google ads on the page might work as well but if you're in it for the cash, there are much easier ways to earn money than through online radio.

apply for google adsense ,you can use affiliate programs of online music stores also put a donation link up,you dont have to beg for money just an option,if you have good traffic with stats search for music brands/bands and ask them directly if they would be interested in advertising, your domain is Page rank 3,you can try and sell links

Thanks for your insight. Ive had it running for almost 2 years no problem and it is steadily growing. Ive also been paying a monthly fee for my dedicated server so bandwidth and cost of running is not a problem for me, but any info that would help in the sense of converting traffic into some form of cash to cover costs would be greatly appreciated. If I am able to generate some sort of cash, it would allow me to take the proper steps and costs to be able to sell streaming ads etc. I am very well aware of what is needed to run the station, bandwidth etc which are not a problem, but what I need help with is converting my visitors and clicks into some sort of $$
