I want to know if it is illegal to take photos that user uploaded to websites?
For example, Facebook or other online website where people upload their photo for others to see.

Is it illegal to just rip it and use it for commercial purposes like in your salespage?

I am planning to take some photos of strangers in a website but I don't know if it is legal... I have went through their privacy policy and such, they did not state they are protecting their user's privacy or rights.

using pictures of other people is always illegal. :)

you are only allowed to use pictures of other people when they allow you to. and somehow I doubt they will.

but then again... who says they'll ever know?

Just be sure to use the photos of those who seem not to be savvy, or has a site that hasn't been updated in years.

if you would like the rules on what the consequences are, then you should look up a 2257 and what will happen to you if you dont have one. I nearly got screwed over by some jackass that was using my images for sale, but since i hadn't signed one of the forms, I am getting my pics back and the pics of me and another girl.. But that was a photographer... So as for the average internet review (I am guessing thats what you are using it for), you may have problems if someone sees them, but if they complain (they were considering being a client or purchasing your product, ha ha irony) just replace the pic with another one.
