I have a hosting account in Hostgator. I installed wordpress on my site but can't see the folder for that site in public_html. This is the main domain I registered with hostgator.
I also installed wordpress on many add on sites and I can see the folders the sites are installed.

Can anybody tell me what can be the reason?
Will hostgator support help me to solve this? or they do not involve themselves in these technicalities.

Hostgator is pretty good with support... hit up their live support on their site.

If English is not your native language don't worry as they understand.

your main site IS the public_html folder.

Just pretend the public_html folder is your site folder.

Also be sure you told it to install on the primary domain.com not domain.com/wp or (much less likely) wp.domain.com
