Guys - I dont know what is going on anymore. Ive tried everything I can to boost a few domains up the ranks but all ive ended up doing is shunting them DOWN.

Ive got some tools - SENuke, SB, AMR, BMR, BackLinksIndexer, SICK, PLR, two HomePage Links network subscriptions and a few other bits and bobs.

You can see - im not shy of trying things out.

Ive bought tweets off Fiverr, Links off Fiverr etc.

My competitor who is above me - has stayed rock solid at number 1 for ages, and now - with two other domains - has position 2 and 3 aswell!!!

    I have lost as follows

    Site 1 pos 2 to pos 4
    Site 2 pos 3 to pos 18
    Site 3 pos 10 to pos 20
    Site 4 pos 15 to pos 40
    Site 5 pos 1 to pos 4

Site 2 - all I did was buy some tweets mentioning it!!!!! WTF?????

Site 5 - this dropped about 5 days ago - I had done NOTHING to it!!!!! On or offsite and some sites I beat off the top a few months ago are back.
    Same with site 1

Site 3 Ive been linking using services from here

The ONLY things I can think of are as follows :-

I need to build more links on forum profiles with varied anchors - Im probably about 80% "keyword1 keyword2" anchor - with the remaining 20% "click here" "read more" - that sort of thing.

Either that - or NON of the tools I mentioned work anymore. Which I dont YET believe.

Can anyone help out? All advice will be considered seriously.

I honestly think that changes when in the first page of google, from 1-2 or 2-4 etc happen due to the other guy being better optimized onsite and with better content. These 2 factors create great authority than the volume or diversity of backlinks.

Ok - I am listening - what can I look out for on his sites?

    Site 1 pos 2 to pos 4
This site has been nudged down by two if his sites which were around 5 and 6 before. I think he may have done something onsite - but cannot be certain.

Lets see - his two sites now at positions 2 and 3
His site 1 - cache date 24 May - beat me down 8th June.
His site 2 - cache date 17 May - beat me down 8th June.
Does this tell me its his onsite changes? His site 2 cache is a massive 3 weeks before he moved in the serp. So I tend to think its not changes he has made - but I just dont know anymore.

Try buying some EDU links...There's somebody selling them here just do a search and some research. That should knock out the competition or at least get you closer to your goal..

Hi - is there somewhere I can get .edu links from actual pages on a .edu - rather than a profile?

    Does it matter?

Are you getting hammered by he Panda update perhaps? I know I lost about half of my traffic on my thin sites.

I'm starting to think that myself. if you were Google, what would your priority be to combat SERP manipulation? Make sure spammy profiles and comments don't work, right?

Hi - I dont know about panda really - my losses happened only about 5 days ago or thereabouts - so I had thought I had done alright by missing being hit by it.

All the sites dropped on the SAME DAY!!!! - so - its an algo thing - rather than a competitor thing. My reasoning is that some dont share the same competitor anyway, and also are different keywords.

So - something changed in the algo about 5 or 6 days ago which affected some of my sites and some worse than others.

None of my sites are scrapers - they are hand written aswell 100% unique content.
Paypal buttons to take payment - stock held and shipped by me - so not one affiliate link amongst them - infact - none of them link out at all!!!!!!!

Yes - if I were google I know what I would target - but - my competitor has around 95% profile links - and he is rock solid. It really pisses me off all this.

Not only that but his sites are just amazon affiliate sites!!

What the shit is going on? I just dont know where I am going wrong and Ive been doing SEO for 12 years!!!!!!!!

    :(

    Keep building steadily =)

I also get boosts after action and then they fall back a tiny bit.

You usually see movement up and down after you make some changes, after a while the SERPs settle though.

are you talking about catch date of their homepage ? if yes may be they would have added a subpage into there site relevant to there main keyword, and when google found that subpage that might have influenced google that this particular site has more content...so move up.

Im talking about the google "Cached" date - the one shown in the cache at the top of the page if you select "Cached" from the serps.

I am unable to tell if he did anything. I doubt it though - hes been banned by paypal and the two sites which have bumped up cant even make sales. If he changed them - the most likely thing he would have also done would be to stick his sad little amazon affiliate link on aswell.

How many days do sites get bumped down for whilst new links are calculated in?
I would normally expect a drop of more than 2 places for this though!!!!!!!!!!!

you lack onsite seo... because an offsite seo would mostly result in G dance/ Sandbox...
So concentrate on your onsite seo and get back your sites on top :D

Did you try duplicating your competitors tactics a little? And, I agree with DamageX, SERP's move up and down. Sometime a great bit but after a while you should see yourself out ranking your competitors by leaps & bonds. I would also invest in some EDU links even if there just profile links.

You could try IBP 11 or Website Auditor in SEO premium suite. Cracked versions of both these software are available in the downloads section. IBP does not work if you are on the first page of a search engine, but Website Auditor does. Worth the effort. You would know where you fare better/worse with your competitor.

    Hey Spaceman,

It seems that you are lacking at OnPage optimzation as well as you have to review your offpage SEO startegy, having tools like SenukeX, AMR, Scrapebox, SickSubmitter etc and unable to reach the top positions indicates that might be your backlinking strategy is not working perfectly .

Dont want to sell you any kind of SEO training but would like to help you to acheive ur position. PM me or contact me on skype
