My main domain on my hosting account has been hacked. It says "Hacked By [email protected]
Are you able to access the cPanel ? If yes then this problem might have occurred due to nulled wordpress themes/plugins..
Yes I am able to access the cpanel...what should I do next? Im kinda freaking out. My offline business website is on that account if it gets hacked im F*****!
Contact your hosting and ask them when the last backup update was for your site. If it was only a few days ago and not too much was added since, ask them to revert back to that.
Then change your password.
Do you have any backup before your site got trouble?
First step, call your host. If its Hostgator they're avail 24-7 which is a great reason for using them. They can usually restore your site. Also ask them what additional protection they suggest and if you can afford it spend a few dollars.
Did you install a new wordpress plugin or theme?
On the site that got hacked it was done along time ago and in HTML I dont even know how to access and change it. The other WP sites seem unaffected I just put up a new site yesterday but no crazy plugins or themes. Im going to call my host and tell them to do a reset to a week ago...this sucks big time! Thanks for the help guys!
Make sure anonymous ftp is disabled.
Is your host a big name provider, or is it a reseller operation? It isn't unheard of for hackers to provide hosting. You buy their service, the time to dispute it expires, and then you suddenly get hacked either with no site, a blank index, or default wordpress.
It was with Bluehost and they did a reset and now its good. I changed my Cpanel password...is there anything else I should be doing like changing the passwords on all my sites?
This was happened due to installing whatever you did yesterday. Just avoid the same installation. Download the copy of wordpress from the wordpress website but not from the fantastico.
Separate names with a comma.
