I use scrapebox to find high PR auto approve comments on the regular, however I haven't really focused on using it to find auto approve .edu links.

So to find these do we just pretty much harvest a bunch of .edu, blast with comments, and see what sticks with the link checker?

Yes, that works and there are many other ways also.

    1. I manually post comments on EDU Blog engine and Drupal blogs to check for auto-approval. Chances to get auto-approved pages are more here and they are do-follow by default.

    2. Take any highly competitive keywords. Harvest backlinks of the first 10 sites ranking for that keyword. You can find many AA EDU backinks

    3. Harvest commentators URLs, their username and generic comments from a spammed to death pages and use it to find AA..

Hey man thank you for your response.

Quick question about your 2nd method.

Do you use the "backlink checker" add-on to harvest the URLs of these sites? Or do you use some other method?

If you could give me an example of how you "harvest" the backlinks (not sure if its common knowledge) I would appreciate it man. Thanks in advance.

Oh wait I just found the "linkdomain:" footprint.

But say I use this to find the backlinks of these sites, how do I sort for .edu only?

    Thanks again.

I use backlink checker add-on for HUGE list otherwise I stick to SEO spy glass.

You can check my threads..just need a little tweak in the footprint.

You're a saint! Question: will the "blog analyzer" or "moderated post filter" addons work for .edu's? I've never messed with them because I assumed they were way too hard or impossible to get.
