A competitor in my niche is having footer links from 1k+ Russian sites homepages and inner pages with pages PR4 to 6 (even inner pages with PR 4+). They are ranking well in my niche based on these spam links.

I am looking for some help on identifying the source for such high PR links from these Russian sites. Is there any blog network or other stuff that is not known to English speaking masses. Help would be appreciated if anybody knows this stuff already. I can share a link or 2 of those sites if anybody is having a clue (serious people only). These aren't open to comments or accept links in any other way on their site.

First, many believe that the value of a link isn't based on its placement which isn't true. Links that are placed within the footer of a page are given less value/credibility compared to links placed in let's say the header or some other location other then the bottom and some times, links in the footer are given no credibility. Web Developers who place their link at the very bottom of a website is a good example, they aren't increasing their sites PR or rank in any way from doing that. Now, with that said, with these being very low quality links and SPAM links most likely, I wouldn't worry even if they are ranking well because it won't last for long. The recent EMD/Algorithm update from Google is cracking down big time on this and sooner than later, the site site that is out ranking you will drop just like many of the other sites that have been depending on these low quality links for quite some time.

I was about to post a thread on same topic, i myself is seeing my competitors using these .ru backlinks and ranking well for highly searched keywords.

Even the latest updates did not effect their rankings.

I personally think they have some kind of link exchange community for Russian webmasters.

Maybe they hacked sites and placed links in footer, maybe not...
But you can send email to google about that and post on their forum about that site.

He wants to join them, not kill the method. It's not smart to inform the enemy - snitching only makes your own job harder in the long run. What are you doing on a black hat forum?

I got solution from one of the user who PMed me. Its not about EMD sites. My niche isn't EMD related. This is a ecommerce sevice and they were not at all bothered by the recent EMD or Panda and Penguin update.

They probably use http://www.sape.ru/. Very good tool but too bad it is only in russian. It checks a huge publishers database and automatically chooses where is best to drop your link. You pay monthly usually nickels for inner pages. Most prices I've been offered from people working with this soft were around $200-300 a month.

it is awesome website. they automatically check if link is there or not, PR and indexation of the page, javascript links and other tricks that webmaster can use to keep link juice on the page. If something wrong, the link will be automatically removed and webmaster don't get payment.

You need to be Russian citizen to buy links at Sape. Good to keep most of the BHW out. Which is a good thing.

That is so not true. Where do you guys come up with this stuff?

OP, they are probably links from a blog network and they do work well. I rank plenty of sites that way. Just don't by links on someone's network. Either build your own private network or use a different method.

    No you needn't.

Do you guys want to pay every month for creapy websites instead of paying just once for sites of good quality with higher PR? There are a lot of similar linkbroker services who suggest you high-PR pages links for very low price (because russians don't care about Google PR. It's all about Yandex TIC (or TQI - topic quotation index or smth like that))
I could give you some examples if you want.
