Set up my 1st AB a few days ago using WP3. I have it set up to use Youtube & Amazon modules as these are the one highlighted in the ShezBlog vids. Anyway, the site looks good and the posts are nice and random. The prob is that it looks too spammy with just video and ads. Sure, some of the Youtube vids have some decent written content, but I need/want more article type posts. How do I get posts that are articles??

Well, on the one hand, "too spammy" is sometimes in the eye of the beholder...but at the same time, yeah, a fair number of AB's just look like flea markets...
You could syndicate some relevant RSS feeds and have them automatically post fresh content with FeedWordPress. Preview the feeds to make sure you're getting full or at least longer articles, not just like a line or two of text + someone else's ad or anything like that. There's plenty of RSS out there for the grabbing...
You could also look at a scraper app like ultimate content fetcher, there are others out there, they will pull articles from various sources and even schedule them out for you over a time period you define.
WPRobot, Autoblogged, Caffeinated Content, and some other apps in the same vein also can get you a healthy mix of diff types of content.
There's a lot of options.

Ah - when you said WP3 I thought you meant WordPress3 - you are talking about WPR3 (WP Robot) I guess...yes, take the time to learn the different modules, it's a pretty powerful app though version 3 has added a lot more options then version 2, so takes a bit more time to learn.
Mixing in content with WPR (or another aggregator like it) can really mix things up on an AB.
