Heres the deal, myself and my partner have 3 websites for bail bonding companies and we are trying to optimize them for google places and organic. I have no problem getting them to rank well on yahoo local but even though I have done the SEO stuff I read in a book and tried to get backlinks I just am having a lot of trouble getting anywhere. I don't think we even really need that many links because the companies that dominate the internet in our area have page ranks of a maximum of 3 and a 10-30 backlinks most of which are from their yahoo local listings.

How can we get a few good quality backlinks and get our sites moving up the ranks? We would not be opposed to paying someone to just consult with us and show us what needs to be done.

Here is an example of a competitor we would be trying to outrank.

xxx.freedombailbonding. :)co m (according to my software he has a page rank of 2 and like 30 backlinks most of which are from an MMA leauge he sponsors)

You're basically asking someone to do your seo for you.

It comes down to this simple fact - you need links.

If you've done the SEO 101 onsite stuff (e.g. friendly urls, title tags, h1, etc.), you just need links.

Your competitors link quantity is probably deceptive, because you're looking at the links to that exact page, but there are probably a ton more for their root domain. Plus they have aged domains working to their advantage, whereas you don't.

My suggestion: build links, otherwise you'll be huffing and puffing like 98% of people about how hard SEO is. Don't expect to out rank your competition the second your stats match theres. If you aren't building, you're dying. I've been there and back.

I have done all the onpage seo stuff. I know and understand what you are saying. I'm not asking someone to just do it for us for free, we would be willing to pay for it. I just want to learn to do it as well at the same time so we don't have to continue to pay someone forever. The goal is to get the pages going in the right direction. We know it's not going to happen overnight.

Heres a question, one of the things that the books say is that the backlinks need to be relevant to our site content. Everyone on here seems to just advocate getting as many links as possible without seeming to be concerned with what content they are being linked from (like blogs). Is this not as important as just getting the links? I ask because it's kind of hard to find pages that have anything about bail bonds which are not bail bonding companies themselves.

Comparing one of my sites to the competitors site (his site is a total of three pages I think with a index page, an about page and a page with pictures and a little bio on each employee) I have a ton of content compared to these other sites I have by keywords optimized to around 3-4.6% vs his keywords at less than 2%. So I know it's all about backlinks at this point. That and I'm sure the domain age like you said.

I guess I just need to concentrate on writing more articles.

    Why not try both?

Of course people on here are going to advise getting links from wherever. You're on blackhat world. Black Hat is all about quick, dirty and effective. Its not about long term viability and it doesn't work in all markets. Use your brain before you jump on any bandwagons.

    Oh and again... test it.

BHW has very little info about building backlinks, so whatever you do don't use the search feature on the forum.

This is strictly a beastiality sex forum. :)
