    Hey guys
I have a few questions concerning my location im currenty in..
I live in germany, and want to promote my site to get better SERS as everyone here..
    My question is just
if i build a lot of links from american sites or have web 2.0 contextual backlinks but the context is english (thinking about buying a service, and that would be english content) how much would that deduce from the linkjuice im getting?
im thinking a lot. because google might think:
meh. seems to be ONLY popular in english speaking countrys. dont show it in germany...(set up a geo target in webmastertools already but im still wondering...)
maybe some of you could help me
    thanks!

What G will think: if you link from american sites targetting the health niche to your site targetting Gesundheit, the backlink relevancy is exact 0 - should be quite logical and obvious that G does not translate the contextual meaning over the different languages. Well you never know, but I would make a big bet on that.

But I don't think it would harm your page, just the usefulness is quite low.

What you could do: buy scrapebox and spam relevant german blogs. Maybe, on the other hand, you have the same concerns like me: I would not dare to spam in Germany although it would be so tempting.

This problem is very exaggerated and its "old news", thus not that true anymore. It was presented back in 2006 (bourbon update?) along with seperate C-class hosting and so on, and we all know those pointers should be taken with a pinch of salt. For instance the guy who had the top positions for "porn", "sex" etc during the last months also had top ranks for many english keywords, and, that guy is hosted in Munchen.

I have plenty of sites hosted "internationally" ranking for english keywords and see no real problems.

edit: ok saw I misunderstood now. Well the same is still true + the advice posted by cooooooooooooooookies

Web2 is ok, just build german pages, not english.

The most important part is that the site is hosted on a German host in my opinion. For me it always has made a difference whetehr i was hosted on the countries host or not. Also did you put down your real name and everything in the "Impressum"?

I always go for every high PR link, no matter the language. In the rare event you get sandboxed you get back eventually (the better the links to you, the sooner) and these links are now 'legalized' and heavy. I don't mind the sandbox actually and forcing it on 30% of my projects as a test currently. It relaxes the rivals and confuses them when a site pops out of nowhere and takes a slot or two above them right from the start.

Not that I am promoting sandboxing as a BH trick or anything.

    Stoooop! Bist du wahnsinnig?

Do not start with BH stuff on .de domains/host in Germany if you are a beginner. Under no circumstances. I even avoid doing that for WH-sites. Simply, because there is always a reason for a Abmahnung, man! There is absolutely no problem in buying .com/.info and put german stuff onto.

What I did: I bought a cheap 5$/month package from hostmonster and register my domains with godaddy (privacy protection!, no real name shown). Quick and easy. I also had an self-administered offshore dedi.

Well i guess its too spät for that now isnt it?:p
i actually is a .com .info domain, and im not spamming or anything.
just forum profiles, Web 2.0 an a few socials..
so there shouldn't be a abmahnung...

    It's possible he's an undercover lawyer :)
But the req. for 2 independent name servers and a german address is a bit of a too much hassle anyway for these domains.
