help a beginner out plz

Ive only delt with writing articles online (prety successfully i might add)

and i just got the ability to venture into the next phase of my online marketing career.

I just won 6 months free hosting, and id ont know where to begin. I've wanted to make a website for the longest time, and since i won the hosting im ready to start, but i have NO clue what to do.

im open to all suggestions, not looking for a step by step guide, just an idea of what could be (even slightly) successful to a beginner.

The main thing is to stick with one thing at a time and make it work. I have to tell myself this everyday.
