Hello Sam7!
First of all, welcome to BHW!
As a newbie, I think you should take a look here:

Assuming you have a small budget, or you don't have a budget at all, I will recommend the following lines:
On-site
1. Even if you have reused content there, is better to check it before you post on your website. You can use Copyscape.com or even 1text.com. Also, it's better to rewrite it a bit, to avoid any issues in the future.
2. Try to focus on a niche, maybe even a sub-niche at this moment. You will not go anywhere with 7-800 articles from several numbers of niches. If your website is about car parts, then focus just on it.
3. Having your website populated with unique content is good. Make sure that each article is focused on a low competition keyword. Even if you focus each article for a 100-200 monthly search keyword, you will have a lot of potential visitors on your website. Don't forget to put some nice images there ( make sure that the images are related to the article and interesting enough. Image SEO is very important. Learn more here: -

4. Now take a look at your website: Is well-structured? The design is user and mobile friendly? It is fast enough ( check with web.dev and GTmetrix )? Does it have an SSL certificate ( today, through LetsEncrypt, you can get a free one )?
5.
Internal backlinks - Make sure your articles are connected - Read more here:
https://ahrefs.com/blog/internal-links-for-seo/
6. From time to time, try to improve each article, by doing short updates. Make edits, add new paragraphs, etc. .
After you solved the things above, start doing off-site work.
1. Build the social media presence: Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Youtube, and so... Let's say you will create a promo video about your website and post it on Youtube. In the description of it, make sure you insert in the video description the other social media accounts you have.
2. Who are your competitors? Try to develop a relationship between your business and their businesses. Try to create a positive article and include them there. For example: How I rebuild my old car - You will be shocked! ( <- title -clickbaitly). Content:
"For this project, I used...: The engine from X ( and insert a link to the "X"'s website ), the wheels from Y ( insert a link to "Y"s site )," and so. In this way, you will tell G that you are a part of that niche. You can have a later-benefit of this. After a while, you can contact X and told him that you promoted his business on your website (
not a big deal, he will think, but he will reply you with
thanks, in the best case ). Once you got a reply from X, try to repeat this kind of promotion. Promote his business again in another article, wait a few days, and let him know again. The idea is to persuade him and, later, to get a backlink from the website.
3. Be active on Social Media, but not spammy. Make daily posts, be responsive to the comments you received from your audience, and generally speaking, be assertive with your audience.
Building a website requires knowledge. Ranking a website requires a lot of patience + knowledge. What I wrote above doesn't require any investment funds, so you don't have any motive to procrastinate the work. Of course, there are many things to add, but I think it's enough for this stage. Take them step by step you will do a good job there.
Cheers!!
