Hello everyone. I am a long time lurker and I enjoy reading the threads here, but I seldom post until recently.

I have a quick question on my site setup, and I was hoping the experts here would be kind enough to give me some feedback.

I have 3 websites, both featuring similar content. They aren't IM sites.

Site A - Site A provides financial services with a news column fed from Site B
Site B - Its a news blog for financial news

Now, its setup so that Site A pulls the news from Site B, so they each have identical news, but I will be able to provide unique content should I wish on either site.

Now I saw my competitor sites doing this. and they have a network of 3 sites, but no internal news column

    So their setup is

Site 1 - financial services with no internal news section
Site 2 - financial services with no internal news section
Site 3 - news site that promotes Site 1 and 2

I would like to ask, should I be going down this way to improve ranking? And which will make for a better user experience?

Or should I just scrap Site B and focus on building a better Site A with its own news section, its own forum and community and make it to a big mega site instead of redirecting the traffic back and forth.

Look forward to your kind replies.

    Thank you!

Depends on where you want to take this project. If you have a lot of patience and want to build a big well known brand for the long-term. Then you will want to focus on just the one site, and making that the best you possibly can. If you're interested in quick monetization, and to get it you will be trying many different SEO techniques, then it's useful to have a few sites... just in case you make an error and the traffic ceases all of a sudden your network is still functioning.
