Sorry for the novel. I just realized I how much I wrote. In short: I have the skill set to produce quality video content and I wana make money. Here's my plan: Goal: $25/day Strategy: low-comp niche Youtube Channel with regularly updated high retention content. Tactics: Create a simple method of vetting low-comp niches on Youtube. Make my production process as lean as possible, so I can release 2-3 videos/week while minimizing quality loss. Fully optimize each video for top ranks. Lean analytics: know my metrics, the data, what it mean, and what to do. Film. Edit. Repeat. Remain motivated. Remember why I'm doing this. Action: Lurk BHW forums for a day. Give back what I can. Tomorrow...Just do it. Learn. Change. Act. My background: I've been making videos since I was a kid and even went to school for it. I've tried getting local commercial gigs, event coverage, weddings, etc. but with such a mature market I found myself severely cutting my rate to remain competitive. Basically: I'm tired of getting fucked. Taken advantage of. And preyed upon. I have a few youtube channels which I've dabbled in on and off. My first channel consisted of highly produced original content (think music videos/short action films a la FreddieW.) which topped off at a whopping ~300 subs before I burnt out and pursued other opportunities. Biggest lesson I learned was that the effort/payoff was nowhere near sustainable. I could spend 4+ weeks putting together actors, crew, and sigh, the cash, all pinned on the hope that money would magically appear on my Adsense. What I can offer the BHW members: I'm a video wizard. If you have a question, I'm certain I can give you a nuanced and detailed answer. From lighting theory to name conventions, feel free to PM me with questions. This is the beginning of a long uphill journey. But I'm excited to get started.
