Health Issue by being a Full Time IM'er (sitting down all damn day)

    Okay theirs alot of health issues with just sitting down all day and what not especially if you arent the most of healthiest person to begin with.

    Me im healthy, I run, workout etc all that good stuff and I am fit (6 pack all that) but what happened to me was a pressure sore on my damn elbow from leaning all my weight on the elbow that I rest on the arm rest (that is solid wood) of my chair. Came out of nowhere was just reading something and bam felt a solid pain looked and it swole up, skin didnt break or anything dramatic but damn its a weird injury to get lol now I have this lil swollen elbow for now.

    so what I got now is a stupid timer clock that goes off every 20 minutes that reminds me too move, because I am the type of person that zones out on what I am doing. Like when this happened to me I was working on automating somethings and I never used this automation tool every before so basically learned it all in one night so guess I was on my elbow too long.

    anyways the program I use to remind me (break me out of the zone) TimeLeft, you can set it to ring an alarm or any mp3 you like every x amount of minutes, hours etc I set mines to every 25 minutes and then I get up and do some small excersive to pump the blood like jumping jacks, push up etc. for 5 minutes then I hop back on and back to work.

    Though I share this cause its just totally random what happened out of no where and I guess pressure sore are serious buisness if they get to far along.

    I work from my home office full-time, and typically I'll get up a 2-3 times each hour and walk around the house. Also any chance I get, I'll walk around my neighborhood a few laps. I just always try and find an excuse to walk around, just to keep active.

    I also work out in the gym for 30 minutes solid 3-4 times per week, mix of cardio and weight lifting.

    I am normally on the computer all day, and after 8pm i take a nice bike ride when it starts getting dark. Get to refresh myself with some fresh air. If you just sit all day you'll get fat.

    at first I aint even going to lie, I hated it. I be into something and bam that alarm goes off triggering it time to get up and move and I wanted to ignore it but I didnt just did it. And now its like second nature I hear it get up and go back to work without losing a step at first it took awhile to program but once you get into the routine its all good.

    yeah I got a intense workout regiment also with cardio in the 45 minutes range every other day and I also get up randomly through out the day alot of times but in what interval who knows, that why I got this to make sure I move around every 25 minutes. cause we all do long streches at a time 1+ straight working and this just make sure I get up and this wont happen again.


    same with me and still fucked my elbow up!

    Or a standing desk, it's much more cheaper ^^ But I do do some of my work on the treadmill sometimes (via cellphone)
