I have some mature health blogs that face the big boys in the serps. i know i'm at a big disadvantage since i'm not a health expert posting content, and i know google puts the sites at a disadvantage because of this.

what do you think is the best way to move forward? go for long long long tail keywords?

Better open a blog which you know about. You can open techical blog or how to blog

Slowly transition to a different niche
Sites in the YMYL space will struggle forever

even if you target long tails (which is recommended anyway) you might still not rank for years and without a strong, trustworthy domain.

That's not to say that you won't rank at all (I did see folks ranking their 2 months old sites for some long tails, but I don't know how they did it, whenever I tried ranking in the health & fitness, pregnancy, and medical conditions niches I failed), but it might have to do with google's randomness (luck) thing that google introduce in their algo.

The health and medical niches (well, YMYL niches in general) are very tough to break into as a newbie, you can trust me on this one. And your sites would need strong EAT, like someone else mentioned. If you value your time and mental health choose another niche, just my $0.2

If you think the blog is worth spending money on, get articles from health experts focusing on more long tails. Else move on to one you're good at.

i will shift as you are saying. i will not totally stop dev on the health sites. they are aged and i will look to get some expert content if viable. but i will still target long tail keywords. thanks

i plan on doing some research to find some of the "experts". it's a tough area based upon all the feedback. and i will put more focus on other less topics will a lower barrier on entry. thanks

There is a reason why someone like yourself can't just pop up with their medical "advices" and rank.

You need high credibility, trustworthiness, and authority to rank on Google for most health related keywords.

What you can do is find a health niche where you can share personal experience such as blog about depression where you can share how you successfully battled it.

Yes, that does make sense. if i was starting from scratch i would avoid the health area. thanks for the advice.

You know that you are not a health and wellness expert, but Google doesn't know it. Do not tell Google that you don't know anything about health and wellness.

I also have raised 2 health and wellness blogs and they worked quite well, even though I am also not a health and wellness expert. ;)

@RealDaddy has mentioned a very easy and useful method in this BHW post that might be useful for you. Why not give it a try?

Good luck!

Sell that blog and focus on niches you are passionate about. Even if you are outsourcing content, it is important to have knowledge about the subject to check that content before publishing on the website.

i hear you. I think i will put more focus on other topics. thanks
i will do more research on EAT thank you
that is the general consensus and i will do that, thank you

Please use the multi-quote function if possible, as it makes the threads flow much easier. How to multi-quote can be found here Newbie Guide

You do not have to be a "health expert" as there is NO SUCH THING.

Who gives a rats ass about "information"?

Are you in the "information" business or are you in the PRODUCT SELLING BUSINESS???????

So find the PRODUCT

Provide information for Mr Gaggle about the PRODUCT so you get indexed

You can borrow "information concerning the PRODUCT" from all other sellers of the PRODUCT,
books written about the PRODUCT, etc

Then use an AI rewriter like Closers Copy to rewrite the info into your expert information

Then search JVZoo or Warrior Plus for one of those new packages that create massive amounts
of Youtube videos from other videos and spew them out. Such as taking "hot babe" videos and turn
them into "Hot Babe + Weight Lifting Supplements" videos. Get the idea?

Axiom of Marketing - You need a hook, You need a Product, You need a "Free Toy"

The "free toy" is the anchor to connect the customer onto your business (good will)

The hot babe is the hook, the supplements is the offer and your website captures the email and gives a free PLR
for the "free toy"

A guy named Yogesh sells something like this called VidSensation on Warriorplus.

https://vidsensation.com/launch-special
The above link is NOT an affiliate link, but it is a link to their launch.

You can compete in the health niches IF YOU SELL PRODUCTS or if you give away PLR products
to build your list or if you push a specialty THAT YOU CAN SELL OTHER STUFF TO. Like
using hot babes videos to sell other things to men (fitness, clothes, sports, dating, etc)

You can succeed if you OUT THINK and OUT WORK the competition.

You cannot go wrong.

Everyday is a "new life". If your ideas didn't work yesterday, then THINK UP SOMETHING NEW.

The Eye Knows

Sincerely,

The Eye
